To be as transparent and responsive as I can be, ill respond to you paragraph by paragraph.

Your 1st paragraph - I don't know what you are hearing from these guys since you didn't post it, However I assume they must be saying things differently than the stats and media heads I have posted.

Your 2nd paragraph - Agreed, he has made great progress. I recall looking over to my family and even saying, if we had week 1 Jimmy G compared to week 16 Jimmy G we wouldn't stand a chance.

Your 3rd paragraph - Most definitly, while it is hard to find players like Mahomes, Brady, Brees, Big Ben etc, they are out there, and just because it is hard to find them, doesn't necessarily mean you settle, you continue to look while using the best QB available which is jimmy G.

Your 4th paragraph - I agree. He hasn't had even 2 full seasons of starts, but he has had 7 years in this league, is 28 years old, got to learn behind arguably the best head coach of all time and the best QB of all time for 4 years... I am definitely not saying "he can't improve" but exactly how much can he truly improve? How much ceiling does jimmy really have left? I can see him shoring up faulty mistakes like the meme from the SB with his eyes closed throwing the interception. Those things can be coached. To me he simply doesn't have the raw skill to perform at a level where he will elevate his team. He reminds me of a player who simply needs everything around him to be perfect in order to succeed at a high level that the NFL demands.

Yup. One of them will be a Bengal next year. The other won't be eligible for the draft until next year, and the Niners won't get him. The third is coming off of a major injury and may end up being a Dolphin, though that's speculation.

Of all the possibilities out there right now, given that the best ones are at the very end of their careers, the only QB FA I would remotely consider is Teddy Roosewater - game manager and would fit right in with the Niners as currently constructed. Teddy's 0-1 in the playoffs, but that was due to a blown FG attempt to beat the Seahawks at the buzzer after he led what should have been a game winning drive. No playoff choker based on that game, anyway.

And Alex's Giants game outside of a couple of plays to Davis were constant 3 and outs.

Jimmy hardly had to throw the ball during our first two playoff games but when he did he made them count outside of the pick to Kendricks. SB our OL didn't play well and Jimmy wasn't able to make up for it.

After jimmy's interception in the 1st half of the viking's game he was asked to throw the ball a total of 6 times, completing only 3 of them. Our only touchdown of the second half came from 9 straight runs and zero passes.

In retrospect, Jimmy G, in half a game with the vikings, and an entire game with the packers completed a total of 9 passes.... let that sink in for just a second..

Neither team could stop our running game so who cares? We had 4 3rd downs more than 2 yards after Jimmy's pick vs the Vikings and Jimmy passed on 3 of them. The whole narrative that we stopped throwing cuz Jimmy threw the pick is silly.

And yes you can compare QBs but just like any other QB comparisons stats won't tell the whole story and cannot be taken without context.

You posting those numbers trying to imply Jimmy is an inferior QB to those two because he didn't throw up big numbers in this playoff run is disingenuous.

He passed on 3 of them, and only one was completed for a first down, the other short, and the other incomplete.....

Jimmy did not win us a post-season game by his doing (majority of his doing since no QB can win a game alone). Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick did, so in terms of who won games for us in their 1st post season starts, he is clearly inferior. He was asked to step up in the superbowl and couldn't deliver after the team had already carried our passing game for 11 quarters of post-season football.

Did you know in 2019-2020, the Kansas city chiefs never scored less than 20 points in a game except once in week 5? Therefore, 20 points is not going to win you the game vs that football team, and the crazy thing was, is our defense almost allowed us to only put up 20 points and win the game... 20-10, almost half way through the 4th quarter, and u lose 31-20. Blame it on the defense sure, but at what point does the offense muster together a drive to seal the game? Eat up clock? Anything? Sorry, this is the moment and are the moments a quarterback steps up and makes the throws that need to be made to put the game away.

So are you saying we should go out and trade for Alex Smith? Because we can...he's available...him and his 1.25 legs.

A stance everyone should think about. Finding a great qb is difficult. Especially one that can take you to the sb. It took KC decades to find their guy to take them over the hump. 50. Payton Manning played almost two decades and won 2, Drew Brees 1, Dan Marino........, A-Rod 1, Steve Young 1. Being the best at the qb position doesn't equal titles. JG in his first full season and he's already at a title game. You can count on him to improve on his deficiencies this offseason.

JG still has 10 years to improve on his abilities. Kyle never had the opportunity to have a player to man his system. Have it clicking on all cylinders. Now people want to scratch the success we had and start over? Pleaseeee.

If i reference Steve Young Or Montana's first post season starts as well, does that make you think I'm implying we sign them out of retirement?

Reference all you want.

I'm still sticking with our guy Jimmy G until his contract is up. Name one QB that can come in and learn Shanny's system and be up and running with our offense 100% by September 2020.

Also, you're suggesting Shanny should have passed more when we had the Packers and Vikings by the balls with our running game? And risk what? Jimmy G getting sacked and injured and out for the rest of the playoffs? Or risking more interceptions and putting both teams back in the game?

The most important part of Jimmys game is improving his deep ball. Until he does that we will regress as a team and definitely not be back in a SB. The blue print on how to stop this team is now out there. If Jimmy can't throw deep and all he can do is a 3 step drop and lock into one receiver, batted balls and INTs will continue to be a thing.

And even if KS thinks that Jimmy doesn't have a good deep ball, he has to start calling those plays more often. Idc if results in a sack or incomplete, you need to keep the defense guessing as many ways possible.

Being critical of Jimmy G's performances doesn't mean you suddenyly don't celebrate the teams overall success or the acquisition of star powered rookie Nick Bosa coming onto our squad, or the great coaching staff we have assembled, or how Deebo is looking to be a very, very good player. Or the great feel good story about Mostert going from squad to squad, having a list of team names in his locker that passed on him then having the performance he had in green bay.

I assume your post is pointed towards my posts and others like it, and thats just silly seeing as this is the Jimmy G thread to discuss Jimmy G related topics and not about how proud and how fortunate we are to have assembled such a great overall team...

He also needs to get out of his head and just run...like he did pre-injury...even if it's for 5-7 yards.

WHICH makes you wonder again and again, WHY did we not RUN the ball more against KC ??
