Yes, we ALL know what Jimmy was SCHEDULED to play. But guess what? He played MORE than what he was scheduled to play. So you harping about what he was scheduled to play couldnt possibly be more irrelevant.

What some of us are saying is based on how the game went with Jimmy, Shanny should have run him out there for another series or so. There is clearly a rust issue.

no, he shouldn't have. he played more than likely the amount he was scheduled to play and nothing more. which is why it made it so hard to pull him and all the 1's. EVERYBODY wanted jimmy to stay out there longer and get something going. but it's not realistic in the first preseason game for the starters.

Kyle said if he was gonna play Jimmy even longer that he would have to leave the starting offense out on the field as well...he didn't want to risk injury to the whole offense.

exactly, there's nothing more to take away as to why he got pulled when he did.

Just play the starting unit a half - that should be enough reps to shake some of the rust off.

If he looks good, get excited, but the tamper the expectation since its preseason. If he looks bad again against vanilla defense, then we have a sour taste in the mouth for two weeks

Considering the biggest thing right now for Jimmy is to shake the rust off and show he can move the offense with the confidence he had back in 2017 nobody should be acting like we're going to the SB based on preseason.

Good or bad preseason should not be overreacted to.

However considering there is no game planning or legit scheming in preseason - the offense and the QB playing well will trend in the right direction since offenses tend to start slower and pick things up in the regular season when you really start to develop the game plan for the specific opponent.

In fact I'd say that defenses tend to show some more exotic things in preseason than offenses do.

Cam Newton out with foot injury. Thats why playing two quarters is dumb. I'd just do 3 series and sit him

With most players, you usually see fans & media rooting for a player who is coming off a season ending injury, but with Jimmy G, it's the complete opposite, ever since Monday night, the hate went way up. Weird, just hope he has a solid outing tomorrow to keep the nonsense at bay
