Anyone know when he is having surgery or if he did already? I want to disguise my self as a candy striper and sneak into his room.

Already blew out his knee. Don't want him in the psych ward too. You aren't helping with the recovery

got surgery scheduled soon hopefully just an ACL so he can recover faster! can't wait to see him kill it next year.

Definitely also need to upgrade the o-line with depth as its the most commonly injured position at least on this team. I find veteran o-line better than draft as it really takes a while to get up to speed at the nfl level. Lynch needs to deliver next offseason as this last one was underwhelming for a franchise like ours.

Montana multiple injuries with significant time lost - 1986, 1991/1992 (I might be missing some.....1989 a few games too)

So of the recent greats (Brady & Peyton) they have an entire season missed.

If you go by the law of averages that a good QB will go down for a long time, then it's possible they will all get affected at some point in their career. Better now than later possibly.

And yes, if I could go back in time and restore JG for the remainder of this season even knowing he will go down with an ACL sometime in his career I'd do it.

Just saying, I'm hoping this will bring something positive for Jimmy and this team.

All these QB's had multiple years playing, Jimmy G has 10 games. If the Niners are really bad this season and secure a top 3 pick should they take a QB as a precaution?

That would be the worst decision to beat all bad decisions. You don't pay a guy 100mil+, and then spend a top 5 pick on a qb just encase, especially not in this draft.

Drew Brees is the example you were looking for.

Drew Brees will be 40 in January and has taken a lot more of a physical beating than Brady, for example, in his career. His contract is only 2 yrs./$50 mil. The Saints didn't trade a low 2nd rounder for just anybody. Teddy Roosewater is a talented, established young starter coming off of that horrific non-contact knee explosion. He is a calculated risk, insurance, and the heir apparent.

You missed the point.

The Saints took a huge gamble on him. He had one good year in four years in SD and suffered an injury to his throwing shoulder that no QB or pitcher had ever come back from. They gave him 6 years, $60 million which was a very big deal in 2006. They then passed on QBs with the No. 2 pick.

By far, the most similar situation to ours with Jimmy. Only difference is we gave Jimmy the deal before the injury and Mommy's injury isn't nearly as bad.
