i still think he has a good shot. My 6 WRs would be Garcon, Kerley, Goodwin, Taylor, Robinson, and Cannon. It might come down to either Cannon, Ellington, or Smelter. Ellington and Smelter have some serious injuries issues so Cannon could find his way to the roster. D

I agree with those guys.

I think Ellington and Smelter are toast

edit:
I can see us keeping Ellington and stashing Cannon for a year on Practice Squad. But I think if we try to stash him for a year, another team will pick him up

I'm surprised to see Ellington still around.

Same here. If they stick, I will be surprised.
I wouldn't be surprised if he cracked the 53 , the kid has tons of talent, the offensive system he played in was bland and boring and didn't take advantage of his skill set , if he can have a strong camp, and get on top of the defense for one long strike in a pre-season game , he'll have a shot at sticking around , there's some spot's up for grabs at receiver

Honestly don't think so
I've seen a couple people comp him to Doug Baldwin he's got to work on the route tree to get to that point but how nice would that be?

Kind of an odd comparison, I think they're very very different players in terms of style. Baldwin is built a little more compactly (5-10 190 vs. KD's 5-11 182) and is much quicker than fast (4.50), running a ridiculous 3-cone time of 6.56 at his pro day versus Cannon's 7.10. Cannon is a bit the other way around.

Keeping the best of the worst.

For now!

IF he makes it thru TC he'll ride the pine or used in a trade to enhance the deal.

Maybe he and Vance??

From watching his highlights, it seems he runs fairly strong with the ball in his hands. Take a look at some of the quick screens, he moves the ball on contact and runs through some tackles as well. I don't always buy into the combine stats as a player could have missed a step for a split second or something. The tape shows he has some serious explosion from a standstill and he is a very sturdy runner with the ball.

Obviously he wasn't drafted due to not being very polished at all but smart coaches will find a way to use a players' best ability. There's so little opportunity in this league for players who are lower on the totem pole that it is easy to misstep when that opportunity arises. The coaches who are stubborn and unaware are the ones who don't find these talents. The coaches who see all players as equal along with the little things are the ones who pull talent and use it.

Yeah I didn't understand it either but that's what I've seen for whatever reason
