Just curious, he's a great player but I still hate him after the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP and his arrogant comments. I would not take him no matter how great he could make the 49er defense. What say you?

Lol yup. I sure hope we can still sign K'Waun tho, but it looks like the writing's on the wall. The Jets have the potential to turn it around really quick. They can eat Sherm's salary. It'll be an expensive hit for having someone who's more of a mentor than a shut down corner.

So, Jon Gruden yesterday was pitching the Raiders to Sherman? I didn't hear the podcast (no thanks since it's the annoying Collinsworth) but wouldn't this be some form of tampering? The new league year and the window for such discussions is a month and a half away - Sherman is under contract with the Niners until that time.

Some of what was written about yesterday's podcast:

Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden joined The Cris Collinsworth Podcast, which Sherman co-hosts. Gruden made it clear that his team might be interested in adding a veteran defender like Sherman. In fact, the coach made it clear that he'd be interested in adding the 49ers cornerback.

"Richard Sherman, if you are a free agent, which there is a rumor you are, we are looking for an alpha presence in our secondary," Gruden told Sherman. "Somebody that could play this Hawk 3-press technique with the read step. If you're available and interested, maybe you and I can get together at some point off-air."

I remember us coughing up a 3rd rounder for Lance Briggs because we had a conversation with an agent that represented one of our players. Nothing was proven and we had to give up a 3rd. This means we should get at least the same. Jed and Lynch should be screaming to get that pick

Unless I'm missing something, that conversation yesterday (and who knows, perhaps a private conversation after the podcast) seemed to cross some boundaries considering the sensitivity of the tampering issue.
