Yeah don't agree at all with going for the FG, even making it leaves a decent amount of time on the clock to get into FG position.
The game would have been over had he converted it, but he was never going to make it in cold conditions.
That dude that caught the last td pass for Denver should of fell at the 1 yard line instead he scored and gave the chiefs 3 minutes to tie the game
My thoughts exactly.
4-point lead or 8-point lead, the defense's goal is still to keep the opponent out of the end zone. Should have downed it at the 1-yard line, milked the clock so that there was only ~30 seconds left when it came time to kick a FG to extend the lead to 4.
This was the biggest mistake of the game but of course everyone will talk about the 62-yard FG attempt in OT instead.
Agreed. I can't confirm it, but according to attending Broncos' fans, their D suddenly went into prevent mode on the final drive of regulation. If true, that would be another horrible coaching mistake considering that their defensive game plan was working like a charm up until that point and Alex Smith isn't the type of quarterback where you have to worry about the 'big play'. Also, if the coaches didn't want to settle for a tie in OT, they would have been better off going for it on fourth down because Siemian had a great day passing the ball.
