Great insight Peter.

I hope they can recognise what they have. Even if he doesn't make the the 53 he should make the practice squad and when injury inevitable happens he can make a name for himself. A lot to watch in this group with such a bad 2015 and so many new contenders with varying levels of experience and ability. A bit of a game within the game really.

If they give the kid some reps in preseason then we will get to see his style in Chips schemes. Obviously the picked him up for a reason.

From what you said before this guy is already battle hardened and has come up through the system the tough way. It may just pay off.

Thank you for the kind words. Blake has already learned 3 systems; this is his 4th and 4th different OL coach. The Run 'n' Shoot at Hawaii in 2011, the Norm Chow pro style in 2012 and the Briles spread from 2013-15.

Whatever happens, I just hope nobody resorts to, 'he's raw' or some stupid know-knowing crap. 37 starts from 37 games, 3 positions, 3 offenses. He is not raw.

You have me getting very excited for the camp battles. And you know we love the underdog. If the Niners can get their Fullback to transition to TE without the speed then Blake has a chance too.

Beat writers are often wrong but never in doubt.

It ain't over yet.

Injuries are common in this position.

CAN HE PLAY CENTER?
I thought he was gonna take over Hayne's PR duties. And they did not even put him on the field. This first preseason game had no spark and they put Thaddeus out there and no Muir.

Look harder, he played RG in the 4th quarter on the last 3 drives.

That really isn't anything unusual for NFL linemen. Trent Brown is 6'8" and like 350....that is more on the unusual side.

Thanks Peter. And of course I was joking about the PR thing.

I was trying hard to find him all game and was probably looking for the wrong number. He also did not show up on the game stats.

I know it was only 3 reps but how did you think he went?

It was from 9 1/2 min remaining in the 4th quarter. Pass pro was excellent, handled the twists well. There was one play on the front side of zone read where they ran a stunt right at the point of attack that was difficult to block, fortunately it was pulled. A good start.

hope he gets more game time to,show what you identified. There has been little or no reports to help get him hope to rise through the depth chart. Not convinced his coaching staff will work it out. He seems to have a lot of competition and Sakomoto said in practice he needs to show more.
