Great insight Peter.
I hope they can recognise what they have. Even if he doesn't make the the 53 he should make the practice squad and when injury inevitable happens he can make a name for himself. A lot to watch in this group with such a bad 2015 and so many new contenders with varying levels of experience and ability. A bit of a game within the game really.
If they give the kid some reps in preseason then we will get to see his style in Chips schemes. Obviously the picked him up for a reason.
From what you said before this guy is already battle hardened and has come up through the system the tough way. It may just pay off.
Thank you for the kind words. Blake has already learned 3 systems; this is his 4th and 4th different OL coach. The Run 'n' Shoot at Hawaii in 2011, the Norm Chow pro style in 2012 and the Briles spread from 2013-15.
Whatever happens, I just hope nobody resorts to, 'he's raw' or some stupid know-knowing crap. 37 starts from 37 games, 3 positions, 3 offenses. He is not raw.
You have me getting very excited for the camp battles. And you know we love the underdog. If the Niners can get their Fullback to transition to TE without the speed then Blake has a chance too.
hope he gets more game time to,show what you identified. There has been little or no reports to help get him hope to rise through the depth chart. Not convinced his coaching staff will work it out. He seems to have a lot of competition and Sakomoto said in practice he needs to show more.
