@scohenPI Good point. Agent would give Okung a buffer. I kept most of teams negative comments about clients to myself when repping players.

I wonder if Cleveland might look to sign Okung to play RT, and help solidify their line a little after the loss of Schwartz and Mack?

The fact that the traveling Okung show continues, however, can be taken as a sign that he and the clubs considering his services remain relatively far apart in their negotiations. The Seahawks - who lost primary backup left tackle Alvin Bailey to the Cleveland Browns last week - would seemingly be especially anxious to get the longest-tenured blocker on the team back.

Durability and depth at the position in the draft, however, may be allowing general manager John Schneider and chief negotiator Matt Thomas to take a firmer stance than expected with Okung and other free agent left tackles still on the open market, like the Oakland Raiders' Donald Penn and Pittsburgh Steelers' Kelvin Beachum.

Okung's struggles with durability since being drafted sixth overall back in 2010 have been well documented. He's never made it through all 16 regular season games in any of his six seasons in the NFL and is currently coming off of surgery to repair the dislocated shoulder which knocked him out of the divisional round playoff loss to Carolina.

Per @JFowlerESPN, the Pittsburgh Steelers have an offer on the table to Russell Okung. Seahawks LT has also met with Giants, Lions.

Translation: we know there is no chance Okung is coming back so we're trying to justify early.

Perhaps but truthfully, IMHO, it seems like he's on the market longer because he's being patient and listening to all offers and then will pit one team against the other. No need to rush especially when you're the one doing all the work. It probably means 3 or 4 teams are in his ballpark too so it's going to take longer. If Osemele made $11.7M, he's got a strong starting point. The article makes no sense either...losing Alvin Bailey is MORE of a reason to ramp up talks. The real issue is that Seattle can't afford his asking price AND Detroit already has an offer on the table. Trying to state that other's are on the market such as Penn and Beachum is not an argument for the need for Okung. Those are far inferior players to Okung who was/is the #1 LT on the market. Trying to focus on injuries...so too has Beachum. Also, if I'm not mistaken, neither Penn nor Beachum play in a ZBS. He would also have to pass a physical.

Bottom line, this may take another week or so or longer and Seattle know's they can't afford him and they're out.

Sooooo.... is AD coming back? Because if he is, then Okung is not going to come here to play guard.

The fact that we're even "entertaining Okung" is probably a pretty good indication he's not.
