Uh, I think he's had a good amount of adversity. The problem with Cam is he will always be judged differently for whatever reason people want to believe. Does he need some maturity? Yes, but people make a big deal out of nothing mainly to push thier own agenda.

There also hasn't been a QB like him. Was he wrong?

Cam the type of nicca that teabags all game then quit right before his team loses the match.

Randal Cunningham was 6-4, 220 and could run just as fast if not faster. He was also a more accurate thrower IMO. He's not quite as big but I would say he's similar. Kaepernick is similar when he's playing well - no, actually, Kaepernick was better than Newton when he was playing well. Donovan McNabb was 6-2, so he wasn't quite as tall, but he was about 245 and was also pretty fast.

I think it's hyperbole to say there has never been anyone like him.

No QB has ever worn pants like this, so he is unique in that respect.

My biggest issue about Cam from the Superbowl was not the press conference. It was him giving up after he fumbled and not diving after it. That showed an incredible lack of heart that is absolutely inexcusable from the league's MVP.

Would be hard to live it down. Played terrible football all game long, yet somehow is only down 1 score near the end of the game....fumbles and doesnt even attempt to try to recover a ball that he should have recovered. Will be difficult to live down IMO.

I think as far as Cam's ego is concerned, that's CLEARLY been CHECKED! Now, as for the SELF-CORONATION by Cam of being the absolutely, positively, most bestest and, unique QB to ever, ever, EVER step on a football field, along with that, should come just a hair of humility. There is also a matter of maturity and understanding that "e'rethang ain't gon' always go yo way all de time". And, time will take care of maturation, if there is any, and, any growth in humility. Anyone and everyone on a professional athletic team plays for and gives EVERYTHING they have to accomplish winning that ever elusive championship. I'm quite sure Cam left a lot on the field that day. Even when hesitating to jump into the fray for the loose ball, his mind wanted that ball back but probably thought better and told himself "you are needed to bring this team back to win this game". There is not a one of us who really knows exactly what we would have done in that situation. I know, I know! You are the big bad a$$ athlete who would have jumped in there to get that f$#%ing ball back! But, would you REALLY have done that? What it comes down to is that Cam Newton, starting quarterback for the NFC Champion Carolina Panthers, losers of SuperBowl 50, is just another man. He wasn't sent here to save mankind or take away anyone's sins. Just to win some football games, throw some touchdown passes, and give some balls away to a few wide-eyed kids.
