Say what you want, it was a penalty, and if it had been us and SEA, with our qbs head getting tugged, we'd all be saying what a dumb play it was by the hawks.
Agreed. I don't see the controversy. He touched the facemask. It's a penalty that will get called everytime.
The rules are made so sometimes that is called and sometimes its not.
Before they used to have a 5 yard penalty for grazing and letting go, but 15 yard penalty for grabbing and tugging the mask.
They did away with the 5 yarder but kept the 15. My understanding is that you can graze and it won't be a penalty unless you grab and tug. I've heard it explained this way. But who knows. The refs don't.

Kind of a sh***y call, but we got a similar call in Atlanta in the 2012 NFCCG on a 3rd down incomplete pass
What are the odds that the 2 worst franchises in NFL history (Browns and Lions) lose like they did in a 4 day span on Primetime

"Touching the facemask" is not a enforceable penalty. Last night's play should not have been called.

Rodgers knew exactly what he was doing by turning his head in the same direction of the defender's hand. Made it look like a total facemask penalty.
these calls need to be made reviewable

Completely BS call. Yet again a bad call by the Refs have a direct impact on the outcome game and no one in the media questions it.
I'm no Lions fan, and I'm irritated by this event, but if this had happened to the 49ers I would be irate right now.

Forget all that. Why do NFL coaches refuse to think outside the box?
Yeah, they have 4 seconds to drive 60 yards. WTF do you have 300 lb defensive linemen in the game? Put one of your big boys at nose so the QB can't step up and your 2 or 3 fastest and best tacklers on the line, spread them out about 6 yards apart and see if the slow OL can block them. Rodgers will need to be as quick as a RB or WR to escape them.
Then, since you know it is a pass, keep your 4 best DBs and replace the 3 remains spots with two of your best/taller receivers and your best Tight End.
Why in the world would you use your DL to rush in that situation.

Amazing finish... It's crazy how these things always happen to teams like the Browns & Lions.
Refs seem constantly in the media this year.

Seahawks always so lucky with the opponents injuries. Vikes come in without linval Joseph who is having a great year. Then in the first q both Anthony barr and harrison smith, 2 of their better defenders go down with injuries.
F-ck. I knew Seattle would get a hot streak at the end of the year.

Anyone see the personal foul called against the Vikings on Russell Wilson? Stunningly bad call.

That was a horrible call.
Vikings just don't have an effective offense.

Vikings have already conceded the game. How they have won 8 games is beyond me

Well, in fairness, their defense is decimated. Anthony Barr, Harrison Smith and Linval Joseph are all injured. Those are probably their three best players. I don't know if you're watching right now, but they moved Terrance Newman from CB to S because they were out of healthy safeties.
The Minnesota offense looks like a mess right now though, and there's no excuse for that.
