Our Society shouldn't allow Athletes to get away with actions that are illegal just because they can pressure a QB, dunk a Basketball, hit a ball over a fence or whatever. That the NFL (in theory) knew about this and therefore "sanctioned" it is just sad.

Sometimes I despair for the future......

after watching the video, it really seemed, to me. that a lot of what he was saying was facetious.

When he says it, there's a lot of laughter in the room(including Sapp) and Carter didn't have a serious look on his face.

It was like he was trying to remind these guys that they have a lot more to lose than the guys who want to follow them around, and unless those guys are willing to sacrifice just as much as they will lose, don't hang with them.

He talked about protecting their "brand" and if those guys want to hang out with you, "they're gonna be the one driving, they're gonna be the one with the drugs" - inferring that these guys are gonna wanna hang out with these rookies, but that those rooks have the nice cars to drive, have the money to buy the drugs, these other guys don't - they're(the NFL players) are the ones who are being put as the "fall guy" for their crew.

That's just what I took away from it after watching the tone of how everything was being said.

I think he is being smart. I mean, the world isnt perfect, people are gonna do stupid s**t. So he gives them smart advice, if you have friends who dont want to do s**t but ride your coattails, have them be the guy covering your ass. Makes sense, cant hold everyone to a perfect standard.

How about some folks remember the context. While youre at it, look up the word facetious, and get your panties out of a bunch. Did he say "if you commit a heinous crime, make sure you have a guy to dump the body n get rid of the murder weapon"? No he didnt. So get over yourselves.

Are some athletes gonna smoke weed? Snort, pop pills and get pulled over holding substances? Other minor things out in the public? I believe so. If they have guys w em, I feel they should stand tall for em and not let them ruin an opportunity.

I disagree 100% of what you say (not that you give a s**t) but these athletes are grown men and adults that are RESPONSIBLE for their own lives. Nobody is holding a blunt, bottle, needle, line, pill, or prostitute and telling them "here you know what to do". There are thousands of players that do the right thing and go through their career with nothing on their record. It is not about being moral or not but its about having common f**king sense. If I were to go smoke crack and get drug tested with leading to termination of my job then that is what I deserve and take full responsibility of my actions. I am not that dumb being having a mortgage, wife, two kids, car, and loan payment but these athletes go from millions of dollars on the line. Call a cab instead of your friend to take the fall for you making a dumb choice. That is the most unadult thing to tell a bunch of 22-24 year old young adults. Take a look at Frank Gore for example and then take a look at Lawrence Phillips. This is an example to live as a professional athlete and then to live life like an irresponsible moron. It is called having common sense.

Its like having a don't do drugs guy say dont do drugs, but if you are, here is how to get around the drug screening.

That's certainly not the impression he gave live on the ESPN Pregame show last night when given the opportunity to explain "where his head was at" when he made the comment to the Rookies. He seemed lost, confused, and unable to provide anything other than "I don't know where my head was at" at the time, but he did apologize.

It's actually pretty good advice. LOL.

If someone does or doesnt have an issue w skating around the screening, which actually happens, to each his own. My feeling is It doesnt affect me in any fashion if someone gets around a piss test.

Honestly w this situation I think this should have stayed in house. The public has too much access to what athletes deal with imho. We dont have access to the locker room for a reason. Talk between players should stay between players. That to me is where the league went wrong, putting it on the website for public consumption.

Chris carter was speaking the truth. He was directing that comment to the kids in the inter city. People need to relax. If aldon had a fall guy/driver he would still be in the league .
