I would welcome him back no doubt. And it was a Big Loss. Cox started out AWESOME but faded late. Brown didnt do squat with the Raiders but thats an organizational thing there in Oak.

its interesting they signed wright instead.. maybe there was a reason?

Ummm because he sucks. Us signing Wright over him says it all, Wright is nothing to be excited about and I really hope one of DJ, Acker or Reaser takes the #2 spot

I don't think they were crazy about Brown in the locker room but all I know is the guy took a viscous hit in the NFC Title Game and didn't let the concussion protocol stop him from getting back in. Just from an attitude and toughness perspective I wouldn't mind Brown back. Plus he can play bump and run coverage. I like certain guys in certain systems and he's one I like.

I heard Tarell Brown is also a free agent.

Theres too much bad blood for him to come back here.

and he is not that good. i understand that many people think signing a x niner is the key to all of our woes but it never works out that way. they are x niners for a reason in my opinion,, we have the bodies back there, lets see what they bring before we start knee jerking all over the place

Our secondary was more system than players. IMHO, the secondary schemes and assignments were simple, which allowed good (but not great) talent play fast and confident - the key to good cornerback play. When a scheme is overly complex and corners have to think/hesitate even a split second, they are much less effective. A good secondary scheme keeps the thinking with the safeties that have more space (time) to adjust.

TB seems to know that our CBs looked better in our system than they were individually, which means other teams would overpay for them, but also means they can be replaced with solid talent taught to play in the 9ers system.

HERE IS THE RUB

Donatell (sp?) with Fangio were the architects of that system. We have changed to Mangini and new coaches. If they mess with the system too much, our secondary won't have the same luxury going forward. And I never doubt a human's hubris to change for the sake of doing it their own way - fixing what wasn't broke rarely ends well.

IMO our secondary looked very good when Justin was uninjured and not as good when he was injured.

If our D front 7 can ramp up the pressure then our secondary will shine

the system was simple, stop the run with your front 7 and play the safeties back to help the cbs

i dont think ive ever seen a team go through starting cbs like baalke, then again its worked over and over

i look foward to seeing guys like johnson and reaser shine
