I'm afraid this is true .... Theus / Cooper won't be up to speed let alone they prove to be better.

C'mon, guys...but I know you were funnin'

Shortest way around Trenton? A battle ramparts assault ladder. You roll it up in front of him and climb over. There is just too much man there to go around....and that is exactly what happened in his starts last yr. No way around him. He kept blaine undisturbed, untouched, and grateful.

I get the strong feeling that he isn't a good fit in Chip's offensive scheme.

ok, so what tackle do you think is cut for Pears? Brown, Cooper, or Theus?
He cut yet?
Can we please cut him. Is Devey still on the team?

No, Devey is waaay gone..

Cutting him makes zero sense. He will likely be the backup swing tackle. He's got experience and would get signed in short order by another team if cut. Not saying I want him starting but I do prefer a vet backup over a couple of rookie this season. Let him go after this year.
Pears was a terrible OT. Here people are speaking about him being ands OG. Perhaps he can perform in that role but as an OT he was just a swinging door to the QB. I'm interested in who will play Right OT for the 49ers. It has to be an upgrade.

for the millionth time it makes sense for the team to keep him for now. he is a body. he can absorb punishment which would usually be reserved for some of our front line guys like staley, he is competition. poor competition but still competition , you use him for camp and pre season and then you cut him after the second game

I'm OK with this as well...but only this.

i like my theory better but then again. what am i supposed to say?
Gotta give Pears props for being in good enough shape to roll with the first team so far, something that can't be said for Brown.

you know... i never thought about that! brown knows what he needs to do. if he loafs around for the next month and comes into camp in terrible shape well. then we have a different conversation about him. that conversation will still never involve davis in my opinion. i did read a report where it said that the few guys who were huffing and puffing at the start of mini camps and ota things were in much better shape at the end so that is a good news
Would people be interested in brining in Eugene Monroe as a RT? Sounds like he's on his way out.

Monroe when healthy has the athletic ability that Chip covets for his olineman. I think the fit is there. But he's also pushing 30 and was injured most of last season. How healthy is he? How recovered is he?

I also know Monroe was one of those guys a couple months back pushing for the NFL to legalize marijuana, so I wonder if that will scare off teams.

No to Eugene Monroe, he also didn't play games due to a concussion...

What if we sign him then he pulls an Anfony D. move (retires)

Not every player is like Davis lol...I'm not saying it should happen but i do think it would be a upgrade from pears for whatever that's worth.
