Who's better? Goldson or Reid? Is this a serious question?

Last two seasons:

Interceptions: Reid 7; Goldson 1
Passes Defensed: Reid 19; Goldson 9
Tackles: Reid 108; Goldson 117

Drive extending unnecessary roughness penalties: Reid ZERO!; Goldson A LOT!

I liked Goldson a lot when he was here, but I got tired of seeing all those flags. Reid is clearly better in every way. He's better in coverage, he makes more interceptions and he's a solid tackler.

Yeah, Goldson was ALWAYS looking for the ESPN big-hit highlight...hell, got MASSIVELY overpaid for it. Didn't work out b/c he was a very undisciplined player and gambled too much. Reid has MUCH more range, a much better team/disciplined player, etc.

This! It's not even close. Dashon is on the verge of getting cut by the Bucs. If Reid stays healthy, he'll have a great career.

Reid is a much better FS. I did love Goldson's hit though. Especially that payback shot on Doucet, but he was a liability in coverage. I always thought he should be a SS, he definitely would have been an upgrade over Whitner. Bethea has been pretty awesome for us, but if Goldson gets cut, I wouldn't mind seeing him and Reid back there.

Really? I'd say the complete opposite. I think Justin Smith and Ray McDonald having monster years in 2011 made Goldson/Whitner look a lot better than they were. That was the last time we really had a dominant pass rush.

I think that Reid is a better player, but being young and no experience, I think that he not knowing the ins and outs of our defense actually hurt the team.

That basically is the main difference... Goldson new the defense so well that he wasn't playing by instinct anymore..

so I have to go with Goldson..

Reid has 7 interceptions over the last 2 years to Goldson's 1. You prefer the guy with the 1 interception. You prefer the guy who has half the passes defended. You prefer the guy who has actually gotten suspended for illegal hits during the last two seasons to a guy who has a grand total of ZERO unnecessary roughness penalties.

I have no idea what to make of that.

Not to mention the guy who just got released from the worst team last season after playing out only 2 years of a stupidly overpaid contract.
