We signed this guy as a FS, do you guys know how much HA-HA signed w/the Bears for a year??

I think he got several offers but chose the bears. Other teams were offering more, so it was him not us atleast in this situation.
It's my theory that he's one of those guys who looks great in practice. It would explain why coaches and beat writers always talk him up. He's never put it together on gameday, which they can explain away with his injury problems, but the truth is he just can't get it done when it matters.

I've heard this narrative a thousand times from podcasts, beat writers and fans: "When Jimmie Ward is healthy, he's actually a pretty good player."

Ummmm, what Mandela Effect is this? Every time he's on the field he's been complete garbage.

When he was drafted, I couldn't help but rip this pick to shreds if he was playing safety. Not only did I feel like he didn't possess the durability (already proven to be true), he just wasn't ever anything special on tape. Dude looked like at best he could be an above average slot corner but he's been an unsurprisingly horrific disappointment since the beginning.

when was this guy ever good?

I can't remember if PFF even gave him good ratings either. And they're usually very generous with their ratings. Just look at how they fluff Arik Armstead's stats.

he was good in this second year in college.

I was going to say the same thing. They see these guys for several hours all week in practice and only a few minutes in the games. Sometimes the mind plays tricks.

He hasn't been. People just want to believe it to feel better about it.

if they coaches are not paying attention to what their players are doing in a game or look at film afterwards. they do not deserve to be coaches in my opinion. i think this is a terrible excuse for the coaches

Better yet, how do they get to where they are without studying film of their players? I'm going with, they are paying attention.

Jimmie must be a Practice warrior just like Blaine Gabbert.

I don't see any good film in the real games.

You would think lynch and kyle who get paid big money would see what you and others see or do not see in regards to ward.. even if they gush about the way he practices.you would think they can see what he actually does on the rare times he does step onto the field

Don't let Shanny have anything to do with evaluating / signing defense...

Someone needs to hold Lynch's hand (maybe both hands) when evaluating certain players / talent...
