The NFL needs to stop rewarding mediocrity... smh. The move most of the divisonal games to the end of the season to stop teams from resting players but then they still award an 8-8 team HFA in round because they won their divison. KC rested guys today because they were locked into the 5th seed, had they had a chance to host a game in round one they would have played their starters and the Chargers would be home next week and the Steelers would be in. It's a easy fix, better record host in the playoffs.

Just take the best records and line them up 1 - 6. It doesn't matter if one division is strong or another is weak. Just 1 - 6. Best records.
all teams are 0-0 when the playoffs start. Teams that won a championship host a game. It's a very simple and good system and it doesn't matter what the records were in the regular season.

Sorry but winning more games than another teams should be awarded.

no, winning your division should come with a reward. The reward is a home game in the playoffs. If you can't win your division, you shouldn't be guaranteed anything, and you shouldn't get a reward. The race for a division crown and all that it entails gave the end of this season some great drama. Why make that meaningless?

This. This was one of the better final weeks of a season i can remember in a while. So many games that had real meaning.
NBA finally fixed theirs to be based on W-L record...NFL should follow suit IMO

No!! ...every time the NFL " fixes " something it turns out worse
it should the developing Niners tho...say a 10-6 record (theoretically) is attained, but since the team is the 7th seed outside-looking-in and get beat out by a 8-8 or 9-7 NFC division winner...dunno about you by that would royally piss me off. it's already happened a couple times

also remember when the team had to go to GB even tho the Niners had a better record? all cos GB won their weakass division
