@caminman Defensive play of the day: Purcell could have won this honor with his goal-line push that hindered Alfonso Smith. But instead Johnson gets top billing for his practice-ending interception, which he made after cutting in front of Wylie and returning 30 yards for a would-be touchdown, sparking a massive celebration among fellow defenders.

@taylorprice49 Glenn Dorsey appeared to injure his left arm during a team period. Mike Purcell replaced him at nose tackle..

He (not spectacular) did alright in preseason as a rook last year. One year under Tomsula helps out a great deal.

Purcell has an opportunity to follow TJE footsteps (once on the practice squad / got his shot due to injury on the line)....
