How about you wait until you see the #s and $16 million guaranteed isn't a s**t ton over 5 yrsan....relax

I'm not going to wait on anything. This is far too much to pay a mediocre, at best, TE. Not to mention the FO hasn't earned my patience . Like I said previously, this is how they will spend their cap space, just extend all their mediocre/s**tty existing talent. So glad they locked up Vance and Tank. Word is there was a furious bidding war on the horizon

It's like NY pointed that's the going rate for a 600 yard te. I still think it's overpaid because the stats he brought up is not an actual season. He has performed worse than Pitta and Fleener this year but I wouldn't lose my mind over it.

Da fuq do you think happens in FA guys?

This is what happens. People get paid. Get over it. There will be many more deals to come.

Using current statistics for just TE's via NFL.com

Ranked 32 in catches. Ranked 21 in Yards. Ranked 20th in Yards per game. In a statistic that TE's are usually judged on....1st down percentage ranked 55 in the NFL. He only has 13 first downs total this season. The only top ten number he's really managed is ypc. He's not a guy who is going to fight for a ball, especially in the end zone like Jimmy Graham or Gronk and yet he's getting paid that kind of money.

How about we get him a qb...he was the 12th overall (among all TE/WR) in red zone efficiently this past season. How about we look at how many passing first downs we have as a team and see how many he's was responsible for?

How about you wait and see what his contract is before you jump of the Golden Gate Bridge? dude was the only passing playmaker we have and is a top 5 blocking TE on top of it...people b***h about him dropping balls but only 3 this yr...get the man some f**king targets because he does good things when he gets the ball!

Exactly.

Vance is doing well and can easily play up to that contract in this offense. This deal will look like peanuts after this FA class is signed. This is what happens.

Cry me a river dude...653 yards 7 TDs in the past 16 games he's improving and would have gotten paid more in FA

These fans will demand we sign every top FA this year and then b***h about the price tag. This is NFL free agency, folks. There are no bargains here.

Pitta caught his first TD this past week in over 2 yrs lol...fleener had dropped more balls then him and has only like 150 more yards with almost double the rec and brees throwing him the ball.

Vance needs to get more involved and hopefully paying him will do that

Well I'd rather overpay for quality then pay correctly for average. I can find 100 Vance McDonald's.
I'm ok with the signing, McDonald is making some plays.

For real...people are high if they didn't think he was gonna get paid this or more in FA.

Everyone wants top players but wants them dirt cheap lol.

Oh well why didn't you say so?! I didn't realize we now combine stats from different years. Now I feel so much better about this. I guess that's how they configured Tanks contract. Took his 0 sacks from this year and combined them with his 3 sacks in 2014...and 1 from last year. Bargain!

Who's the high quality TE in FA?

Well considering that's when he became a starter yeah I'd consider that a fair way to judge someone's play.
