Exactly what I thought too. This is a chance for Boone to come in and save face a little, there will probably be a little more guaranteed money but nothing close to what Boone wanted.

Can Boone play nose tackle too?

Why would they cave now, though? Doesn't make sense, especially after Looney looked good in the preseason. Seems like the leverage swung even more in the team's favor.

More likely, Boone and his agents realized it was time to move on, because now he was about to start missing meaningful games. I mean, I don't know either way. But given the timing, it seems like this came from Boone's camp, imo. I read that one of the terms was that the 49ers can't put the franchise tag on Boone at the end of the deal. Seems like the agents were trying to save face and were taking whatever they could get.

If you like holdouts and want more in the future, then yes I suppose this is good news.

if the reports are true,, he reports, you move some money around, waive fines,, does not sound like the team caved,, of course boone knew he had to report in the first place for this to happen but thats a whole other story moron,, glad he is back but moron

They cave now because the next game counts, and you can't get Kap killed in the very first game of the season.
Will go get drunk to celebrate being back with his team, then he will go home kick his wife and rape the dog.

I could see it both ways.

But if the team really wanted Boone back, and think they would've done this earlier, so that Boone had time to get in-game action during at least a preseason game or two. I'd be really surprised if he starts this week, having not been to training camp or played any preseason.
According to bleacher report Boone secures 2.3 M raise over next 2 years and can't be franchise tagged in 2016
AGAIN,...this could have already been on the table. Aside from that reality,.... if we did we cave into upping the money with no additional years given to us, we are in trouble come 2015.

Look, to me it's obvious. If the team DID NOT cave, then Boone will be reporting under the exact same terms of his original contract. Schaffer said "a reworked deal".

So obviously some negotiating was going on, and Boone has a better deal than before the holdout.

CRAP!!! Way to fold Baalke.....This team is going into the crapper. I think the Harbs and Co have been the beneficiaries of a very talented core that had nothing to do with them. They took over a very talented, but under coached team. Doesn't look like they can keep it together. I should sell my season tickets.

Ok. First and last over reaction post of the day....but I'm bummed about folding to Boone.

You don't know s**t yet ... none of us do No one but Boone's team and the FO know. Relax! BTW, there were plenty of posters here that said he would report before the first game, or not long after. He really didn't have a choice. Seems to me things unfolded exactly as they had to, and right on schedule.

Meh. I hope they still hold him to the fines. Not fair to others of he gets to sit out TC and OTA, not put in the hard work, and avoid injury, and still get a raise without some type of punishment.

I also hope he has to earn back his spot. Looney played extremely well at RG
