Plaxico Burress set to be released tomorrow: Destination?

Discuss where you think he might wind up. I don't think he's returning to New York. Rumors are that he'll end up in Philadelphia, but I think Chicago is a distinct possibility with Cutler badly needing a big receiver like Burress. I hope it's not with the Eagles. Chicago would be a good spot for him so I agree with you.

I just don't see the need or the room for him in Philadelphia. He's a good player, but who knows how long he has left at the age of 34 (although might be a little fresher having not played for a couple years), and Philly has starters with Desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin, with some good 3rd-down clutch guys like Riley Cooper, Jason Avant, and the speedy Sinorice Moss.

Since he has a family, I'm sure that'll be a consideration too.

Teams that really need a receiver like Burress and appear to be open to acquiring more weapons? I'd say Chicago, Cincy, St. Louis, Washington, Carolina, and Jacksonville.

Bears and Rams seem most like to me. Young QB and young WRs that Burress could really help along while adding a big, talented receiver to bolster the WR corps on those teams.

- Probably no to Washington and Carolina, he'll want to be on a contender.
- Cincy seems iffy because of the area and the QB situation there.
- Jacksonville maybe, but they may need to overpay.

And this is if he goes to a team that badly needs a WR. As we've often seen, many times the teams that don't really need another talented player at the position, but have leverage because they're a winner, land the free agent, and at a lower price sometimes too.
