Adam Schefter mentioned the same thing today on ESPN as well.

I hate to hijack your thread, but I hope Harbaugh was at least able to slip Smith a playbook before the lockout.

If he did Goodell would probably make us forfeit 2 first rounders. Nah, a lot of teams are in the same situation because they have new coaches and will have new schemes... it's even worse for team's like us without a QB. If the whole off season is shot it would such a waste. I am sure Harbaugh and the staff are working their butt's off but it still hurts that they can't coach the players. I mean I didn't expect miracles this first season because of everything new being put in but not having an off season might ruin some of these new coaches careers.

This was the worst year to fire Sing. The one year that we have possibly no chance to plan and go into the season unprepared would have been a perfect fit for Sing.

Typical niner luck since the Yorks took over.

See I think Harbaugh and the FO don't have any expectations next year knowing that of all teams ours is probably the worse off in light of the current situation being what it is. If not then damn close.
I think it's likely that we will be a bad team again this year. I actually see the year panning out nearly identical to last year. There will be movement of positioning, but it won't be drastic. Give or take a game.
Assuming of course that the lockout lingers. If it's wrapped up in a week or two there will be little to no impact on the season, as there is likely to be less off-season in the new CBA anyway.
