they're holding out for a better draft pick.
We should take Mike Brown at his word. If they trade Palmer they would be in worse shape for a QB than the 49ers are now. At least the 49ers have David Carr, an experienced if mediocre QB. Cincy has only Carson's little brother who has only thrown 15 passes in three years in the league.
Though Cincy fans would like to see a better QB, they are faced with the same exact thing as the 49ers - they don't like what they have but can't face the fact he is about as good as they can get. Until they draft and train a new QB, Carson Palmer isn't going anywhere unless the price gets bid up to a 1st round pick.
All this will get played out at the same time as Kolb and Orton are played. If any one of the three actually gets traded, the value of that trade will go a long way to dictating what the other two might bring. Hence, Philly, Denver and Cincy will all be sitting back waiting to see which other team becomes the most desperate for a QB and will overpay to get one of those three. Once that happens things will start to happen in a hurry. My guess is that all three will bring at least a 2nd in a trade.
