🏈 2026 NFL ENTRY DRAFT 🏈-Do not tip picks!

Oh damn, didn't realize he will turn 25 in October. I'd still be ok with getting him with our later 2nd rounder.

Can EMW even play FS?

I'm sure he could. Would he flourish there probably not. He should be close to the LoS as a traditional SS. The Coaching staff may have a higher opinion for Sigel than us fans. I think Sigel showed some promising flashes and with an improved pass rush could be a decent single high safety.

This is a exactly the kind of draft where you want as many bites of the apple as possible so I'm thrilled to see them being patient and letting it come to them.

True, but they should have got more than a late 5th #179 for trading down 3 spots in the 1st rd

Agreed. Doesn't seem like great value for the trade back and as a few have mentioned, the 5th year option on it's own should hold more value than that (sans a G). If they truly did somehow know for sure the guy they wanted all along would still be there at 33 then I guess you're happy with whatever you can get as it's just a bonus lotto ticket. If they end up with EMW out of all this, I'll take that all day. Was hoping they'd have a choice between him and Cooper with that 33rd pick before the Jets snagged him.
The 5th year option would be valuable if the guy they wanted was there. I read or heard somewhere (sorry, no link) that they had only 12+ players with first round talent grades.

Yes, they get Bosa back but the jury will be out on him til he shows he isn't impacted by his ACL. It is is second and yes, he bounced back 5 years ago but he was 23 and still young in terms of his career. He is now 28 and has taken 5 years of NFL wear and tare so it is no guarantee at how elite he comes back. Jury will be out on that until he shows what he can do at 28. Williams probably is not back for the first few games of the season and they need someone opposite Bosa who can play and contribute and take some pressure off Bosa.
Next is left guard. We need someone who can come in and compete and hopefully start.

Last is a toss up between safety, WR and TE. Best player available there I say. I will say in my opinion they have to find 3 gems because their elite players are old and/or aging. I'd like to see them hit their drafts and have players coming up that will be elite at some point in their career with them.

I like Jake Tonges, and i think he can get better. I'd put tight end as a low priority in my book.

Players don't make it to the 5 th year of they are good, and usually not worth what they get paid if they end up playing on the 5th year option.
If they stay
TJ is the play

reminds me of that stud guy Seattle had during their first Super Bowl.

He's average at best in coverage and has serious trouble with the smaller quicker guys in coverage, if we needed a strong safety, I'd want him. We really need a coverage safety though, like Bud Clark. If we could get him, one of the Michigan DE's, and Chris Bell, I'd be happy. This is one of the weirdest draft classes I can remember, as far as what positions are strong, and which ones are deep. It also lacked a bonafide superstar type.

He's not making it there. He's gone in the first ten to twelve picks tomorrow.

Not with Kittle missing most of the season. Tonges is fine, nothing special. He made some nice catches but he's not keeping any defensive coordinators up at night and his blocking isn't really a plus either. I would take Roush in a heartbeat in the 3rd round. He's a great fit as an all around TE that can do everything in this offense.
It feels like we had a bye week and our entire division lost well the Cardinals won but they don't matter.

Kind of crazy to think the Niners were one fumbled Rams pick away from having to worry about how they were going to deal with covering Puka, Adams and Lemon.
The best part of my night was what the rest of the NFC west did. Two RB's from the same college team? And a backup QB. Rams and Cards had high picks too. I like it.

As for what we did... My Birthday is tomorrow. So I am just going to try to be happy about more picks to watch.

I've always thought the fifth year option was useful for either trading the player if he can't be resigned before his contract is up, or as useful leverage in a franchise tag situation. I.e. you have a longer time before you have to franchise tag the player. But it comes down to if the player has any value.

Picking a guy like A. J. Jenkins in the first round because of a fifth year option would be a brain fart in my opinion.
