4 in the 4th rd.
Who you got?
Here's mine:
127. Jaishawn Barham lb/edge Michigan
--- reminds me of a young Charles Haley.
--- violent hands, and high-level dip and twitch around the edge, even though inexperienced at edge. Lots of raw talent.
133. Nate Boerkircher TE Texas A&M
--- all-around skill at TE. Shows more on-field athleticism then his testing numbers; a football player. Plus blocker. Plus effort. Plus hands. His playmaking will show up this season--and we will need that.
138. Bishop Fitzgerald S USC
--- skill and know-how are top-50, but he's a lesser athlete. In my opinion, he can be a player who makes plays that win games. He can play strong and free--he's skilled and aware. Isolated coverage against speed will be a problem, though.
I think he could really challenge for FS time early.
139. Demonte Capehart DT Clemson
--- massive dude with nfl-level explosive power. Put 10-15 lbs more muscle on him by year two and he will be a big problem when rotating in at one or zero. He's like steeler Yahya Black, but more explosive and violent. Also, he has outstanding length--unlike CJ West, who was unproductive inside because of stubbiness.

Will the centers last that long? If so I like Logan Jones from Iowa and Pat Coogan from Indiana. I think they would both be a huge upgrade from Brendel, even if it takes them a little time to get everything. Jones is a great athlete and Coogan is a great leader. Would be happy with either, I'd be fine to use our 3rd comp pick as well

RB Nicholas Singleton, PSU. He gets knocked for not making the second cut or finding the perfect hole, but Shanahan and Turner have made one-cut guys into superstars, and this guy runs a 4.35 at 225 pounds
. We haven't had a terrifying home run hitter at RB since Raheem Mostert. I miss SCARING teams with the run game.
DPR Jaishawn Barham, UM. For every reason xcfan stated, as long as he's still here. I've seen him going as early as late in the 2nd. His tweener fit and relative inexperience on the edge could be a negative that lets him slip, but crazy Uncle Kris could see that as a positive: great clay with no bad habits to fix.
TE/FB Jaren Kanak, Oklahoma. If George Kittle and Kyle Juszczyk haven't made a baby yet, they can adopt this one. His thread tells you more than I can: he's a LB-turned-TE who goes up and gets 50/50 balls, lead blocks with vision and physicality, and runs a 4.5. Ideally, he's a late day 3 pick (RAW), but we don't have one of those. In a perfect world, we trade out of 4th and pick him up in the 5th/6th along with an extra player. I wouldn't be mad if the trades didn't show up and we took him with a comp.
WR DeShaun Stribling, Ole Miss. He runs fast. Like, realrealfast. He's a 6'2" 4.3-40 guy who blocks well and runs through contact. He doesn't have a ton of wiggle to his game, but he can run the basic routes well and separate, and he doesn't stink at contested catches (can box out and extend better, but it's the 4th round, so stop clenching your sphincter). He'd push Watkins for his spot, hopefully getting the best out of both of them.

Good selections. I particularly like RB Singleton. His size and speed would, IMO, make the defense move toward the line and open up the passing game. My thought is to split CMC more often so Singleton's speed could get on the field more often. Singleton has receiving skills too.

Thank you! I should have mentioned his receiving ability. It's actually why I found him in the first place. I was looking for fast backs with receiver skills. The first guy I found was Price from ND, but he's probably going to go earlier, even though he backed up Love.

it's kinda crazy to me that nearly all RBs in college and HS aren't good at catching/routes. If they have NFL aspirations - they need to study their routes and hands craft. In todays NFL - it's hard to get on the field if you can't do that at a good level, IMO. that's been a major issue with getting CMC off the field for us - no one can come close to replicating his WR ability, which puts a ton of pressure on the defense.

You are all really speculting on 4th round picks. Not saying any of them would be bad but by the 4th round there's no way of knowing who will be there. It's hard to even project the 2nd round.

lol usually by the 5 or 6th pick in the draft - everyones projections are broken.
I will say - I do learn a lot about players I never heard of from guys on here and I notice them when they get drafted. Sometimes we draft a guy that someone created athread for and placed a bunch of useful information - so that's always fun to reference.

Of course, but generally we are looking at guys outside the top 100. Pull up any mock site. See whos ranked between 100 and 200, and who are your guys. Just fun and games.

After watching every draft since 1985 (Jerry rice, in a trade with new England), I've learned that 3rd and 4th rounders generally possess both strong positives and strong negatives. It's pretty unique to this group, so it's not mostly speculation. You just start charting characteristics on all the players you look at and they begin to slot in.
It's inexact science for sure, but draft after draft start to give clarity. Depth of position also play into round drafted; for example, my TE Nate b could fall to me because there are many 3rd and 4th round tight ends.
On the other hand, my edge barham could go earlier because he possesses one very good talent: suddenness on the edge.
My safety will likely be there because he has a big negative: will mediocre athleticism even translate to NFL play? He might be doomed from the beginning if he just can't do one thing.
So, chart and weigh characteristics, then the projections you come up with begin to reflect the rounds these players are actually drafted.

I bet there's a team that loves Kyle louis as a player on their team, and drats him way before round 4.
