I like Zion, but this team has enough glue guys. Give me some juice

I'm feeling more and more like Caleb Lomu will be the first pick.

The team really needs to invest in the trenches this draft on both sides and fight the urge for skill position players early imo.

If we went WR/S or S/WR (after a trade back) i wont complain either. Just get great football players. I'd like EDGE/WR or WR/EDGE but not at the expense of getting the better football players. We have too many big needs to pidgeon hole ourselves into one position at each spot. But we should target certain positions

BPA all the way at those positions - S, WR, EDGE, and G in the first two rounds. Any combination of the best players available at WR/EDGE/G/FS/OT at #27 and #58 unless miraculously someone like Sadiq falls to #22 or something and in range of a trade up.

If we drafted say an EDGE/OT at #27 and at #58 we have Ted Hurst and Keylan Rutledge on the board and we had Hurst graded a tier above Rutledge - we draft Hurst and vice versa. Dont go Rutledge just because he is a starting plug and play LG if we have Hurst graded a tier above.

And oir 4th rounders also BPA even if it's a CB or even a second WR or second EDGE

If the skill position players are the ones on the board when we pick and we have them graded higher over and of the trench players at those spots - we draft the skill position players.

A small trade back to 30-35 would be a perfect spot to try an grab a guy like Malachi Lawrence at EDGE. And if he is gone just before that trade back spot it is totally fine too as we got back extra picks + now have a lot of good options at say #35 to be our first pick..

AJ Haulcy FS
Cashius Howell EDGE
Zion Young EDGE
Emmanuel Pregnon G
Chase Bisontis G
Concepcion WR (could conceivably fall to 35)
Iheanachor OT
Emmanuel McNeil Warren SS

All of the above would be great picks especially after getting an additional pick or two for moving back. But Lawrence should be there (seems like he is thw type of EDGE Raheem likes to draft) so we go EDGE

Then at #58 we go BPA at G (Rutledge), WR (Hurst/Brazzell/Williams/Bernard), or S (If Haulcy was still on the board I'm running up the pick) or even use a pick from the trade back to #30-35ish to move up from #58 to get a guy at 45-50 that we covet that falls to that region (like Haulcy, EMW, Pregnon, etc).

30-35. Malachi Lawrence EDGE
45-52. AJ Haulcy S / McNeil Warren S / Pregnon G

I would be stoked at something like that and quite a few other combos.

Overall I agree with you. However I think some things need to be taken into consideration. If you take a WR in the first round what is the development plan. Pearsall and Evans are pretty well entrenched into the top spots. The team has been able to manufacture offense when multiple skill position players have been out under Kyle. We have to be realistic at what keeps holding this team back from achieving it's goals. So unless when the pick gets here there is a WR that is a significantly higher value to them than a oline/edge I think we're buying into a cycle that continuously is biting us in the rear end at the wrong times.

This seems like a draft where a lot of teams are gonna want to trade back though.
