With the 27th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft the San Francisco 49ers select Safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren.

The 49ers overachieved in 2025 and burned themselves with the 27th draft slot in each round.
We really need to infuse more young impact talent into the roster. The onus is on the front office to draft well.

We won a ton of close games. Some at the end. Against a weak schedule. Sometimes with improved special teams. The kicking and returns really helped. Which is great. But realistically we aren't as good as the record we had this year. Likely against better competition next year and not having every game go our way we could have a worse record in 2026. We did get burned on the pick. Probably something around 15 - 20 would have made more sense for what this team really is. But they miss so often I don't know if it would even help.

Not a great list honestly. As you can imagine it gets worse the further down the draft you go. Maybe the best option is to trade the pick away for a proven player?
Yeah the pick itself hasn't produced a ton of great results but at the same time would the following look a lot better?
Chris Jones
TJ Watt
Fred Warner
Maxx Crosby
Patrick Queen
Creed Humphrey
Trey McBride
Puka Nacua
Cooper DeJean
Nick Emmanwori
All players selected each of those drafts after pick 27. Obviously we know you can find great talent later in the draft - Fred, Kittle, Greenlaw are examples of that.
I actually think smarter move for us may be to trade back. We definitely need cheap, young talent to help us cover some ground and the more picks you have the better chance of guys falling through the cracks and turning into something really good.

at 27 they will most likely draft someone like WR -KC Concepcion if he is still there.

i really like the S in this draft as well as WR. i think we can get a S and 2 WR in day 2 and 3
I think day 1 we need to go with an EDGE (TJ Parker or Mesidor would be my favorite but a guy like Zion Young wouldnt surprise me). There is a serious talent drop off at DE unless you want a 1 dimensional guy (speed rusher or guy that cn set the edge but raw in pass rush). I think we need a good EDGE to rotate with Williams and Bosa to help reduce the stress and workload. Keeping everyone fresh will help with injuries and production

Caleb Banks at #27?
If one of the top WRs doesn't fall.

How good is Anthony Hill Jr. the LB out of Texas? Is he worth #27 or even more ideally worth taken in small trade back to the low to mid 30s?
If Concepcion doesn't fall to 27 that is.

right but those picks come at a wide range after 27. Just goes to show you just how hard the draft is.

Yup. Just a reminder of how hard it is but also how you can find great players outside the top 10.

If Sadiq runs a 4.50-4.55 and he's there at #27 would be hard to say no with Kittle out. Kittle ran a 4.53 if I remember right and is one of the fastest TE in the NFL. I'd take another in that mold for sure. Grab Cooper/Bernard/Hurst at #58 and helps with our offensive weapon shortage that SEA just laughed at and we put up 9 points in two games as a result.
Get Doubs in FA as well and things look a lot better.

As good as everyone says he is and if he runs those numbers in the 4.5's,. I wouldn't get my hopes up that he last till the 27th pick.
