Kadyn Proctor-6'7", 355-Alabama
Possibility to be the next monster NFL tackle. Massive guy with ridiculously quick movement for his size. Still only 19 years old so there's a lot of development ahead for him but he's already a very good tackle. Unless the 49ers have a disaster of a season or there's some major injury issues then they will not be in a position to acquire him.
Francis Mauigoa-6'5", 315-Miami
Two year starter at right tackle for the Hurricanes and an absolutely dominant run blocker that is still coming along as a pass protector but isn't a slouch in that area either. In many ways he's a carbon copy of Troy Fautanu who the Steelers drafted in the 1st in 2024. Both physical linemen that do well blocking on the move and have quick feet for their size. Right now he's viewed as a mid 1st rounder but could easily work his way up into the Top 10 with another good season.
Spencer Fano-6'5", 300-Utah
Elite run blocking tackle that only allowed one sack last year. Undersized, also a bit of a tweener but does possess both the strength and movement skills to fit well either at guard or tackle in the NFL. Has started a dozen games at both left and right tackle so he could fit well at either position in the NFL. This season is going to be particularly crucial for him as it could be the difference between being an early 1st rounder and a late 1st to early 2nd round pick. Could stand to add some more weight to help him against bigger defensive linemen. Right now he's my favorite for the 49ers since he's such an exceptional and dominant run blocker, would fit really well in Shanahan's scheme.
Isaiah World-6'8", 315-Oregon.
Big, athletic tackle that has been very good at Nevada, starting two dozen games at left tackle. Tremendous size and length allows him to keep pass rushers at bay but he definitely does need to add some more mass to his frame. Didn't allow a single sack in 2024 in over 450 pass blocking snaps. Going to Oregon he's going to be tested against some much higher level competition so a successful season could drive him into Top 10 discussion even.
Caleb Lomu-6'6", 305-Utah
The guy who was so good that he pushed Fano over to the right side of the offensive line. Utah could legitimately have two tackles be first round picks in 2026 if both come out. Lomu is already an exceptional tackle at 19 years old and unlike with Fano, there's not really any questions about length, he just needs to continue to fill out his frame. The athleticism, the power, the technique, the potential to become a dominant NFL left tackle, everything is there, its just a matter of him continuing to develop and gain more experience as he's only been a starter for one season.
Gennings Dunker-6'5", 315-Iowa
Really what more needs to be said?
Fa'alili Fa'amo-6'5", 320-Wake Forest
Washington State transfer that is an experienced starter at right tackle. Stayed in school to try and improve his draft stock. Injury and length concerns have limited him so this is another potential high riser if he has a great year and stays healthy. Ideal right tackle for this offense with his ability to block on the run, reliable pass blocker but has some issues in that area that he needs to correct. Might be a 3rd or 4th rounder based on his body of work up to this point.
This is a nice writeup, Phoenix. Thank you for putting it together.
Unfortunately, I have this sinking feeling that if Shanahan does draft a tackle next year, all of us will react with a collective:
WHO?
