The players you DONT want the Niners to draft with 1st round pick

Mocks and projections are all over the map right now, and the Niners have a great opportunity to reinvent and supplement the roster. We have needs nearly everywhere, but who are the players that are projected in the 1st round that you'd want to avoid. I'll kick it off with a few:

1. Will Johnson - I am adamantly opposed to drafting anyone coming off injury. Especially when we can't see you at the combine. He could end up being a very good corner, but not demonstrating his speed (when it's already in question) is a red flag. Also, was he a product of an awesome Michigan D line?

2. Shemar Stewart - Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane? Incredible testing numbers but never produced in college. Too much of a gamble/ projection to take at 11. Need guaranteed production and unfortunately he doesn't offer that at all. Lots of EDGE players available in rounds 2 and 3 that have outproduced him.

3. Mykel Williams - I don't see consistent pass rush to warrant the 11th pick. Good edge setter against the run, and will occasionally flash, but I just don't see a dominant pass rusher which is a prerequisite for drafting an EDGE this high.

If we were to trade back to the late teens or in the 20s, I guess I could accept these guys, but the goal should be to get a bankable starter with the first pick, and these guys just have too many question marks.

I don't know if i have any. I kind of brace myself since they rarely pick the guys i like. Also they have a lot of needs and i can see why they would like a lot of the players projected to going in rd 1.

With that said here are the guys i wouldn't pick just due to draft value and team need:
Any TE (Kittle is the best TE In the league and doesn't get targeted enough not sure what a TE2 would do other than block)
Any RB (sorry no runningbacks for me in rd 1)
Any WR (don't like any of them this year plus we just drafted Pearsall)
Any S (I don't like the value of safety in the first. Would need to be a generational talent for me to bite)

however it plays out i feel we are getting some sort of specimen on the DL. i probably don't want an off ball linebacker. see if we can land the ucla LB round 2.

Agree with all that except maybe the WR part where we are extremely thin.
