Meet the next great 49ers LB, and the only player in the entire draft I'm making a thread for. I love this dude. Some of the best instincts and quickest trigger that I've ever seen on college tape. This guy was born to play stack LB. He shoots gaps, sniffs out screens, blitzes like a demon and shuts down his part of the field in coverage. Honestly, the only weakness I saw what that he is too damn fast to the ball that he rarely has to beat blocks, but when he does, he gets taken for a ride. An NFL weight room will help improve that. You put him next to Fred from day 1 as a Will, and he can replace Fred as the Mike in a few years when Fred retires. Overview Schwesinger went from walk-on to All-American at UCLA. He's a human bloodhound, pairing elite instincts with an understanding of blocking schemes and run tracks. The pursuit speed is average but his play recognition helps him play fast. He's undersized and takes the worst of it when blockers get on top of him, but he's a good athlete in coverage. He's also a sound technician as an open-field tackler and bona fide standout on special teams. Schwesinger was a starter for only one season, but his instincts, athleticism and competitiveness help him project as a future starter either inside or as a 4-3 Will linebacker. Strengths Rare instincts for maneuvering inside and avoiding blocks. Body control and agility in short spaces is first class. Plays fast and sees run-lane development like a running back. Deciphers play-action and mesh-point shenanigans quickly. Able to drop his weight and explode laterally as a tackler. Has hips, feet and eyes to cover ground in zone. Special-teams star who is resolute on kick coverage. Weaknesses Lead blockers tend to neutralize him in the hole. Has issues getting rid of big bodies attacking him. He's quick, but chase speed appears to be average. Lacks the size and force for ideal stopping power as a hitter. Could have issues carrying backs out of the backfield.

I do wonder if he would have been our pick at #43 if he was there. Because we did take a Linebacker at #75.

browns are a fun team of rooks with fannin, dylan sampson, mason graham, schewsinger, that's a good group, then you consider 2 round 1's next season of browns and jags, those should be strong picks. so they are building pretty well if they can ever get the QB position sorted

I predict that once Fred hangs them up, this kid will be hands down the best LB in the NFL. Just watch. I just hope his career doesn't go to waste in Cleveland.

He's been incredible. Packers offense is no joke and that Cleveland D shut them down with Carson playing a big role

Looking like he has the DROY locked, I put $10 to win $400 it'll be a nice hit hopefully.
