if you're gonna apply that same "upside" to him why would any of you be upset with Stewart or Williams? It's not like Grant has eye popping stats either.

For me in this particular scenario, its about the optics. Stewart and Williams are Edge rushers. Their position suggests they should already be able to Rush and if we had to talk upside I would have wanted the upside be run defense not the other way a round.

As for Grant, the expectations in drafting him would be run defense. He's already great at that.
I'm with you I'd, prefer my DT to also be a pass rusher. That isn't Grant's strengths by any means. That said, I do think he'd put up comparable numbers to alot of other DTs in the NFL. I don't believe I could say the same from Stewart or Williams.

Just my opinion

How do you define be able to rush? Just collect sacks? Stewart had the lowest time to pressure in the country.
I've pretty much locked in on Stewart, Williams or Nolen as the guys I want at 11. I'd have Harmon part of that group but sounds like he's got some medical red flags.

so has the club if i am reading the tea leaves correct. it's 90+% one of these 3 guys. these guys were all elite prep prospects with some high end traits. they would be maybe both bpa and need.
I hope it's Nolen at 11 I'm a no go on Stewart. So many DT's in this draft that it makes me think they are going to go CB or OT at 11

Nolen could have more immediate impact, as we need IDL. he could be a day 1 starter. now when you zoom out, edge is more valuable around the league. you can find IDL later in the draft. harder to get a premier edge later in the draft, imo.

Nolen and Williams were top 10 recruits in the country (Nolen 2nd overall Williams 8th) . Stewart was a 5 star, but he was ranked 30th overall according to rivals.

I would love it if they ended up with Nolan and Grant or an edge guy plus Grant. I know the still need O line help but if it's not there when they pick then don't reach. Get players that can help and have an immediate impact.

So silly how these medical red flags are coming out now. Harmon hasn't even missed a game in college and if he did it's only one game, not enough to medically red flag him. IMO

Some of them are more long term issues than short term. I know I read that about Will Johnson anyway

Doesnt mean there isnt an issue that may require future surgery. Harmon has also not participated in any athletic testing at the combine or Oregon pro day outside of running the forty. A little odd to skip vertical jump, broad jump, 3-cone drill, 20-yard shuttle, bench press at both combine and pro day.

Maybe he just really wants to play for him hometown Lions.

After the first two in your list I'm trading down or at least trying.

I have grave doubts about trading down this year. I would like to, in some respects, but I think the extra picks will be disappointing.
Hope you like Duck's because we are getting Conerly or Harmon maybe both !!!! Book it
