Obviously there is a bunch of schematic stuff that can be done on both sides of the ball, but realize that in a base 4-3 defense, which lineman you double has as much to do with formation as talent. Your edge rusher lines up outside the tackle from 5-9 depending on how wide you want to be. The 'T' here is the 3 tech outside of the left guard. He's playing the B gap. The 'N' is playing as a 1 tech in the A gap between guard and center. And you other base end is out wide beyond the tackle. The default blocking concept here is going to be to double the NT. At least for a push or two so that he cant jump the gap. Then RG and C might have other responsibilities. The center cant just double the 3 Tech on the accord that he is the better player because doing so puts the RG at a huge disadvantage having to reach and move to cover a big gap.
So if you want to argue which DT gets doubled more, you have to ask yourself which DT lines up in the A gap more? Thats your answer. Because of this you want your 3T to be fast, twitchy, explosive and able to beat 1 on 1s. You want your DT playing the 1 or N here the be stout, able to anchor, able to fight double teams, able to shoot and power through gaps. Of course some teams value versatility and flexibility and like guys that can play both. But in general its easier to find a big, stout, heavy, round guy that can play the A gap then it is to find a twitched up 300 pounder that can pop off the line, win inside and outside the guard, has the wheels to stunt over, has the hands to chop and push pull.

Walter Nolen/Mykel Williams/Membou/Graham/Harmon. One of those 5 players should be there.

the only NT in this draft class who can dream with being something close to D. Lawrence is Deone Walker,... who playing in the SEC when he was 19yo got 8 sacks and 51 total pressures,... and he had to confront double teams almost always
take Walter Nolen with the 11th (Harmon, in case he's gone) and then Deone Walker with the last 3rd or one of the 4ths

I do not like Deone Walker at all. You want to talk about horrible pad level 🤮 he's more Kinlaw than Lawrence. I wouldn't draft him until late day 3

NFL radio discussing rumor that Jaxson Dart may go 9 to the saints. If sanders also goes top 10 we're golden, if he doesn't we can trade down potentially

Smoke screen? I think the Giants want Dart but were hoping to come in later. Might force their hand now.

what do you expect from a 6'7'' guy? yeah, he plays at high pad level,... but he wins,... he's constantly beating double teams,.. and I like the way he does it, he's kind of rigid but then have some smooth and quick movements to beat his opposite(s)
seems he's expected to go late 3rd or 4th round,...and I would no doubt take him in this range

Yes and Dart (I expect) will be round 2.

Dart is in a similar vein to Bo nix last yr, he's gonna be a top 15 pick. NY isn't gonna move up that high to get him. I mean maybe they like You Tyler Shough 😝 heard he's got a good shot of going in the 1st.
I can't imagine NY passes on Sanders if they want him to be their QB of the future. You gotta eat your medicine when you want a QB, you take him at 3 (maybe move down a little) or you simply don't really want him.
