If Membou is like T Williams why wouldn't he be the pick?
1) Williams is getting up an age and will eventually need his replacement.
2) This draft is deep for dline. They definitely could get a good one 2nd or 3rd round.

Pass win (10)
Pass double / chip (7)

Pass pressure allowed (4)
Run win (1)
Run lost (4)
Run tie / no effect (3)
What am I missing here? I don't see it with this guy. Definitely not as a 1st round pick. He got help or allowed a pressure on half the pass sets. He lost more run sets than he won.
He didn't allow any sacks but I was surprised to see Missouri offer so much help with doubles and chips. And that was with Membou at RT vs power rushers. I don't think he'd stand a chance at LT with speed guys.
He could be a decent pass blocking guard but his run blocking looked mediocre.
2nd round? Sure. He has quick feet and a strong punch for pass blocking but he seems to get moved easily in the run game and that's concerning if he would have to face interior tackles 60 pounds heavier than Scourton and Stewart.

It's still way too much help to be giving to a RT who is supposed to be a top 15 pick.
If he was a LT against speed guys would he need help every snap?

Just because he or any other player getting help doesn't mean he's the weak link or incapable being on an island. Some offensive philosophy is based on chips/help concepts.
Geoff Schwartz wrote an article few years ago about this topic. "NFL pass protection is complicated.."
Sorry, I am having trouble putting it here but it's a good read.

there was a total of 31 pass attempts in the game...
90% of those chips and doubles were not even needed. Mebo already had the guy locked down

Yeah I'm not with Sask on this one, Membou is a damn good OT prospect. He won't be 21 until end of the month and overall has just scratched the surface at playing OL.
I'm not positive he makes it to 11, but if he does I'm all for going in that direction.
Just because they schemed help his way doesn't mean it automatically gets chalked up as he needed the help. Those chips and late doubles did nothing to impact the play on the majority of plays...the defender was already removed from the play.

Armand Membou is taking no-hitters deep into the 3rd quarter in all of these games. He might give up a base hit here and there, but he's giving up next to nothing time and time again. In most cases, he's striking out the side. This isn't the type of prospect that fails in the NFL
