Picking a CB in the 1st would be just as dumb as this team picking a WR in the 1st last year. But it wouldn't surprise me at all.

TRENCHES
Dillon Gabriel (Oregon) – The Closest Match

Profile: 6'0", 202 lbs, Sixth-Year Senior
Experience: 63 career starts (most in NCAA history), 46-17 record across stints at UCF, Oklahoma, and Oregon

Stats: 65% completion, 155 TD passes, 32 INTs, 10-yard average depth of target, 87.0+ PFF grades in his last three seasons

Traits: Gabriel is a small-statured, highly experienced quarterback with a proven track record of winning and production. His strengths lie in short-to-intermediate accuracy, quick processing, and mobility (over 2,000 rushing yards in college), though he lacks elite arm strength or size. Like Purdy, he's adapted to multiple systems and coordinators, showing resilience and football IQ. His 2024 season at Oregon (73.2% completion, 3,558 yards, 28 TDs, 8 INTs) elevated his stock, but his physical limitations—undersized frame, modest arm—mirror Purdy's pre-draft critiques, likely pushing him to Rounds 3-4.

Why He's Like Purdy: Gabriel checks the boxes of extensive starting experience, efficient play, and leadership that Purdy brought to the NFL. Both thrive in structured offenses that don't demand deep-ball heroics, and Gabriel's ability to perform under pressure aligns with Purdy's calm-in-the-storm reputation. If he lands in a Shanahan-style system, his ceiling could resemble Purdy's.

the Combine is starting to date itself.. the combine was great when teams couldn't see kids and getting tape/film was actual tape, was difficult

now, anyone can view vids from their phone in their living room in an instant.

That's why the combine is more of just a tradition- Reid

Anything to prop up your guy.
prop up what.. you have no clue in anything football
Let's stay on topic guys.
Looks like the DL measurements are starting to come out

Derrick Harmon has some pretty impressive measurements.

Oregon had some great DL play but moving down and grabbing Harmon in the first would be a OK with me

Nice! Another contender for a possible trade down. Here we go with the measurements.

I see Oregon in my market all the time, he looks solid, he had some good players around him. In a trade down he would compare to Nolan to me

Trent Baalke just dropped to his knees inside a Buc-ees.

So much to like from front 7 players this year, I feel like Augustus Gloop walking into the candy room
Alfred Collins, stock up
Darius Alexander, box checked
Jah Joyner, stock up
Tyreem Powell, stock up
Omarr Norman-Lott, box checked
