Jack Sawyer - Edge/DE - Ohio State

No Jack Sawyer thread? Have enjoyed watching him play during his Ohio State career. What a playmaker he's been in this postseason!

Bosa and Sawyer as bookends?

Would be very interested in reading any thoughts/evaluations from Ohio State fans who've watched Sawyer play closely over the years.

Hoping for him in the 2nd or 3rd!!!!

my dream draft:

Mason Graham
Jack Sawyer
Cam Skattebo
I can't give a good breakdown of his game like someone such as Heroism; DBs is my position. But I have seen him play over the years and what you saw from him last night vs Texas (if you watched) is him. The kid just makes plays. He's not the biggest/fastest/strongest/flashiest/ freak athlete with a repertoire of moves.

He's a high character high motor player that is consistent. Depending who you ask; that is better than BOOM or BUST. He will be a good player; maybe never "Great"

I'd take all three in a heartbeat!

Not sure they're going to have a chance at Graham (but one can hope!). Sawyer, maybe if the Niners didn't like what was at #11 and traded back to the 20s (really not sure where Sawyer will go to be honest...late 1st?).

Good assessment and syncs with what I've seen from him whenever I watch Ohio State. He does just make plays, and sometimes in the biggest moments like last night (saw the game...that sack/scoop & score was impressive!). Combine that with being a high-character, high-motor guy. 6'5", 260...will be interesting to see how he does at the combine.
That sack, scoop and score was my first time seeing him. Impressive. All in a days work from this guy?

That cross chop and his 2 hand swipe was working all night.

Lethal!

The guy just keeps coming at you all game. Better be prepared, better bring your lunchpail.
Don't think this guy will last in 2nd round. This guy made himself some money last night. That play he made was against Cameron Williams, who is also a first rounder.

To be fair to Williams, he was coming into the game with a right knee sprain and I doubt he was close to 100%. That said, Sawyer was able to highlight deficiencies that Williams showed all season. Had him lunging all night, and Williams clearly isn't a finished product. Perhaps his stock we will see drop from a 1st to a 2nd and Sawyers raise from a 3rd ro a 2nd

There is no way Williams is a 1st rounder. He was abused all night. I thought Banks was very good but Williams simply wasnt

Replace a 3rd rd running back with an OT or ball hawking safety and I'd agree. No way the 49ers can go 3 picks without addressing the offensive line. But, Graham and Sawyer would be nice

I'm actually expecting Scattebo to be there in the 4th round. Sorry it wasn't really round by round just the players I hope the 9ers can get.

Would love this but think all 3 will be gone by the time we pick. Lynch would have to work some magic, which is highly doubtful.

If you want to see a RB fail, have him be selected to the 49ers in the 3rd round under Kyle Shanahan.

I'm a big Sawyer fan, I think he's got the leadership and nastiness that our D needs, he's just a limited rusher but he's still a quality player. I do think while the playoff games are pushing him up in people's minds the combine is more likely to send him back down the boards.
