Peebles and Mills are the 2 I constantly mock to us in the mid rounds as our 2nd IDL

This is the ideal draft to be getting cost controlled young talent across the DL. Why are we spending any meaningful cash there? If it's not some crazy ass trade for Myles or Maxx I'm not really down for it.

Dayo Odeyingbo projected contract is gonna be 4yrs $70M ish

Campbell is more likely to retire at almost 40 vs play imo. He's gonna want one yr FGTD cash to make that work anyway.

Dalman is gonna get something around 4yrs $50M

also I'm not investing a top 11 pick on a OT who reportedly tore his patella tendon.

love the breakdowns, I'm just not sure how realistic it is.

I haven't read anywhere that Simmons tore his patella. In fact his agent Drew Rosenhaus said the will be ready to test at the combine and be 100% for training camp. If he tests well he might not be available at 11. He is the best OT by far in this draft.

We aren't re-building. We still have a talented roster that needs veterans and supplemented with rookies. We can't have a Dline full of rookies. And we will have close to 85 million in cap space. Why wouldn't we be players in free agency? Get a few sure things instead of question marks and make a run for the SB in our stadium.

Also, the cap is set to explode the next few years. 70 mil is going to be nothing for contracts.

Good listen. Here's one of the nuggets, they love Darius Alexander but he just turned 25. Does this drop him a little in your eyes?

The part that worries me about him is this part
  • Racked up 25 penalties over past two seasons between SDSU and Ohio State - must clean up technical infractions
Did he improved on this in his 6 games this year?

What difference making veterans (3rd year or later) are still on this team?

CMC off injury
Aiyuk off injury
Trent Williams off injury
Fred Warner
Nick Bosa
DeMo Lenoir
Aging Kittle

Jennings and argument could be made for Mason. At least in the context of when giving the opportunity

Ok. So within a span of one year we go from the "best roster in the league" to having no difference making veterans as an excuse to draft 5 rookie linemen?

What about average or above average veterans? Or do we need a team full of All Star?

Yes! We can take one of Nolen/Harmon/TJ Sanders early and Caldwell later.

Hey I hope he does all the tests at the combine. I'll be shocked if that happens.

that $85M in potential cap space is also meant to be rolled into next yr. Niners are bottom of the league in cap space in 26/27 (that's with inflation cap numbers applied) and that's without Brock/kittle etc extensions.

I'm telling ya, they aren't gonna be big spenders in FA. All the 49er insiders are saying the same thing. Maybe they go get one guy and some depth. They aren't gonna be forking over $100M+ in FA contracts.

I would readjust your thoughts on how the off season and roster building goes. Just my two cents.

Not even a little bit, he's an monster coming out of the same program as Quinyon Mitchell. If you could somehow stack Graham and Alexander, I don't see that as being excessive at all.

Good to go.

I'm down for something like that.

We went into LAST season with a sense that it may be the last hoorah for that specific window of players..we've been knowing age and money will catch up. Look at last year's roster- was that "best roster in the league?" And regardless of last year, my point and question remain the same: what difference making veterans are still on this team? Were not talking all stars, were talking above replacement-level talent.
