2025 Draft Class: IDL

unless someone unexpectedly falls, I really really want to trade down. I would even take a little less value as long as we don't get bent over.
We need to really hope that Jeanty, Wallen, are still there when we pick, I think those are a few that someone may move up for.
If we can get the same player at say 20 that you can get at 11 that would soften the blow of getting a little less value in a trade down.

yeah that's kinda what I just posted too. I just don't think it's gonna be super easy to trade down (unless someone falls).

end of the day, if you like a Harmon or Nolen and are cool taking one at say 15, who really cares if you take him 4 or 5 spots higher? I understand the added capital (probably not gonna be much in this draft), but end of the day just get a good player that plays an impactful position of need.

No joke, I think a lot of it stems from fans put off by his frame and body composition. He's got a funky high-cut build with bad weight in his upper body. Dude is built like a fat basketball player.

Yeah and he kinda came out of nowhere. Personally I'm a fan. I wouldn't be upset if he was our 1st rd pick.

I'm a fan too. But @ 11? That's too rich for me and I'd take someone else. Waaaaay too many good DTs to reach for him at 11 IMO

This regime has proven one thing in the draft for me; I expect (what I think) are reaches. Who here or anywhere had Pearsall in the first round?

Trading up for Pettis in the 2nd; trading up for Beathard in the 3rd, Latu and Moody in the 3rd, etc etc the list goes on and on

What I admittedly have a hard time accepting come draft time is that there are all these draft boards and rankings that we see on tv/social media and have our own "rankings" in the months leading up to the draft. They have theirs.

I agree with the past, but I didn't really have
an issue with Pearsall. There are only a certain number of true first-round worthy players in every draft, so someone has to go after those guys that's going to be considered a reach.

I didn't follow the rankings as closely last year, but I felt like they did a better job getting value for their picks than they've ever done. Isaac Guerendo was the worst one when it comes to reaching to me. I hope all the reaching starts to fade away now that Adam Peters is gone because I always felt like he should've been blamed more for bringing that Patriots drafting system to the Niners.

In my ideal world they trade down and go Nolen or Harmon. Like others said not sure we will be able to move down.

honestly we're in kinda a weird spot, they're either gonna reach a little for a good player at a need or draft a guy who doesn't play an impactful position/we already have talent there

I'm warming up to Johnson, also if he's CB1 in this draft I don't understand why he would be there at 11.

FWIW they need more than one good DT.

What would you think about moving back and taking Schwesinger in the 1st, then Tyleik Williams and an ER in R2 (if they can net a 2)

I liked Pearsall in round 2

Exactly. You had 4 WRs drafted in the next 6 picks. Is it really a stretch to think that had Pearsall been on the board he wouldn't have been drafted by one of those teams?

CJ Stroud was pissed we drafted him cuz he wanted him in Houston. They were picking like 12 picks later. You also had KC telling him they were going to draft him(obviously before making the move up to get Worthy)

Not to mention at 31 you're arguing semantics between "he wasn't mocked as a first rounder"

Hell even the Pettis pick, Green Bay was in on him per their own guys. Beathard pick was Kyle's hubris honestly but I don't think they really felt he was a starter level QB.

TDP and Latu were the biggest reaches for me honestly. Just no explaining those honestly.

I mean I just don't think they're gonna spend a 1st on a guy who's gonna be our WILL LBer. I like him a ton. IMO it's very unlikely they do that.

I also like Williams, I don't think he's a pass rushing force 3-tech that they love for this scheme though. Overall wouldn't hate it, but if I'm using SF roster philosophy I can't see those two as their first picks.

What's the difference. End of round one or in round 2. Player value is about the same after the top 10-15 picks. There just aren't a lot of blue chip players available each year. By the middle or end of round one every pick becomes a question mark.

Yes I like Harmon from what I have seen. I want a guy who can do that job. Oddly enough I like when I trade down, get him and then Caldwell later on. There is our instantly improved trench and run/d. I think they should take 3dt from this draft. One guy who is obvious starter and two others we can rotate in with Anderson etc.

I feel like Johnson is an easy choice at 11 assuming both OT are gone.

@NY- I think a lot of people got Hunter as CB1

@Cisco- I'm right there with you; easy choice. I honestly would have a tough time deciding between Campbell and Johnson because I think Campbell would play guard for us.

Well I think a lot of people have Hunter WR1 as well lol. He's not making it out of the top 5, he's my only true blue chip guy in this draft. Unicorn

Personally I don't think SF has Campbell as an OT. They like length at the position. They also don't value CB overall (meaning they can find scheme fits later). I'm fine with Johnson, but I'm assuming neither of those guys would be their pick at 11 and I've kinda accepted that.

Harmon and Nolen just fit what they like at DT. Would it be a reach? Based off mocks and analysis…Yeah. Kyle and John have shown they don't care about that stuff.

They shouldn't. If we had taken DE TJ Watt over DE Solomon Thomas I'm sure the draft experts would called it some massive reach. Before anyone states who we obviously should have taken I'm just making an example of how online draft positioning means nothing. There's only 2 rules imo when it comes to the draft. No Tight Ends in the first round and never draft a kicker/punter.

Oh yeah I've accepted it too. I've already accepted to be dissapointed with who they choose in rounds 1-3 lol.
