2025 Draft Prospect Watch List and Discussion

Actually I have not brought up drafting a RB in first 3 rounds at all before. Nor have I brought up drafting a C at 43. My DL preferences will continue to remain the same in getting at least three of Caldwell/Farmer/West/Pegues/Alexander/Norman-Lott/Jenkins in rounds 4-6.

There are 20-25 DL starters in this draft so I don't necessarily feel the need to pick one high (and I've already stated my #1 preference is a trade back to the high teens to select Kenneth Grant). Lots of directions we could go so it's fun to think of different angles and strategies for team building. Then again there are boatloads of RBs in this draft too so perhaps could argue not going DL or RB until the 4th round. But Kyle cannot help himself so if he is going to yet again go RB in the 3rd round I guess it would be Tuten.

I wonder what you will flip flop on for a mock next week?

I do tons of mocks on the simulators so it's not flip flopping. They are just ideas for people to observe and assess with praise or criticism. I like hearing different perspectives.

Also so many factors - do we have to stay at #11 and pick - who is there on the board in that case. Or can we trade back etc.

In the end, just draft great players. Damn the position. Just get great players at each pick and don't reach for need.

Well you don't need to post them all in here.

Theres a mock draft link. Hell, make your own and post your new mock every two days on there.

I have been tinkering with the idea of trading back to 20-25 getting two extra 3rd round picks and a 4th round pick. IF and only if that could be done, going with a certain strategy to think a bit out of the box.

And draft Omarion Hampton. We met with him at the combine and he is not making it to #43 and doubt we'd trade up for a RB and we aren't drafting him at #11.

This dude is special - 2,000 yards from scrimmage last year. Had a Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 9.93 at the combine, ranking him 14th out of 1,909 running backs since 1987. And ran a 4.46 at 6'1 220lbs

My rationale is that I was trying to to get TreVeyon Henderson at #43 or even #75 in a couple mock simulators but now there's rumblings he could be a first round pick too or early 2nd. CMC needs to share the load during the season and protect his achilles on both legs for the playoffs - if he goes down again we have a blue chip replacement and won't miss a beat.

Then draft Jared Wilson C out of Georgia at #43 and say bye forever to Brendel and the carousel of average Cs we have on the roster. Pick up Hollin Pierce T a 6'8 monster road grader who can also pass block and combined with Kittle and the new blocking TE2 we just signed our running game becomes dominant again right away which we need as Brock cannot carry us with his arm.

#22. Omarion Hampton RB (could be RB1 in the class and prefer him to Jeanty)
#43. Jared Wilson C (best C in the draft by a country mile and immediate starter - if we value C like people say since we've paid big money for C, we need to do it here as he is likely gone by #75)
#75. Savion Williams / Jaylon Royals / Jaylin Noel / Jayden Higgens WR (we met with these all these guys - must be targeting one of them with #75 here)
#80. Hollin Pierce T
#85. Braydon Swinson EDGE
#99. Jamaree Caldwell DL
#112. Josh Farmer DL
#118. Demetrius Knight Jr. LB
#138. CJ West DL
#139. Sa'vion Jones / Kaimon Rucker EDGE
#148.JJ Pegues DL
#189. Nohl Williams CB
#228. Jaylin Conyers TE
#255. Craig Woodson S
Id puke if this was their real draft

I dont think he will still be there at 11 but now believe he will be the pick if available.

Because of this tweet/time? Or in general. Because that's not a good time.

Bosas was electronically timed not hand timed.

And Bosas entire draft profile was not predicated on him being a freak athlete

Bosa ran his at the combine which I believe is typically known as being slower surface to pro days.

Bosa also had a faster 10 yard split and the whole monster pass rush repertoire and technique that Mykel doesn't possess.

Honestly I'd avoid both of them but if we're going with a freak DE to develop I'd rather roll with Stewart.

Why? Because he plays DL? I mean at the very least Stewart is an athlete freak. This dude at his pro-day? Not so much.

Tape and production are more important than the combine. When will teams learn?
Mykel Williams, 14.5 sacks in 40 games. Known producer.

Travon Walker 6'5, 275
9.5 sacks in 36 games

Mykel Williams 6'5, 260
14 sacks in 40 games

There's a reason for that if you watched Georgia. Kirby Smart rotates all his linemen. They are 2 deep. He did it with Walker and he did it with Williams.

Walker went 1st overall and had 10.5 sacks in his second year and played elite run D.
