2024 Draft Early Look

Instead of resigning Aijuk, what if we packaged him with other draft picks to move up for Marvin Harrison Jr.? I know it sounds like fantasy, especially if he goes in the top 5 and the draft capital we would have to surrender to move up that far, but here is my reasoning.
1. Salary! If Aijuk ends up performing well getting over $25 million a year, he might price his way off our team unless Trent Williams retires. Good for us if he increases his trade value which is kind of essential for this to work, and will also make me sad to see him go.
2. Julio Jones! When he had Julio in Atlanta, his offense was incredible. Falcons made a similar deal and it almost won them a Super Bowl
3. We have a pretty deep roster, and a ton of picks. May as well try and get the best player in draft. Low risk high reward
4. We have an elite run game, but our receivers have not shown they can dominate, and I love how we scheme people open, but what would our offense look like with an elite pure wideout, and CMC? I hope Aijuk can become that, but I am not as confident in that as I am in Marvin Harrison Jr.'s potential, mostly based on watching his father for over a decade, and seeing his son look just as good with a way bigger frame, and a lifetime of training toward this moment. Also why I want to draft Frank Gore Jr. and Brendan Rice.....
5. It's working really well in my Madden Franchise! lol, go ahead and roast me now

Obviously, everyone here should want Harrison Jr over Aiyuk, but he's going to go top 3 in the draft. No chance we trade up for him.

Was that enough roasting?

ROFL!!!!! Sounds plausible, but man, those were the peak webzone days. The draft forum was alive and thriving since we had high first rounders, Maddog was posting some of the best draft content I've ever read here, and Wu was always feverishly arguing in favor of any and all Michigan players. Good times.

I miss Wu. Can't spell Michigan homer with WU. well you can but it isn't as fun. He was right about Gary. Turned out to be a good player. Not GOAT as was predicted by him, but I'll give him his due.
Depending how we resign our guys i think 49ers are going to trade up for an OT.
After the Jacksonville win, the Niners needs are getting clearer every single game. The team's history is to build from front to back so that is my assumption on how they'll proceed. Their biggest need will be to rebuild their O line, inside and outside. With 11 picks, I am assuming that they will use at least three on the offensive line. At the minimum, they definitely need at RT and an OG to replace McKivitz and Burford. Even though the Niners like Brendel, they could use an upgrade there as well IMO. They also could add a 4th offensive linemen as a long term replacement for Trent at LT. Depending on how they handle their salary cap and re-signings, the secondary should be the next big area of focus to fix with the defensive line next in line and the offensive skill positions being last on the list.

I'd take the best of which of OL or CB is available, personally.

I'm not sure they need to trade up, a guy I wish would fall to them is Mims from Georgia but I'm fine with taking Kingsley from BYU, Morgan from Arizona, Guyton from Oklahoma or Barton from Duke, 1 or 2 of them should be available, our 2nd abd 3rd round picks need to be a Boundary CB, WR, and Edge. Not much money to sign players so we have to use our draft capital wisely.

Just look at the Niners draft history. They draft from front to back. DB's are always lower on their priority list than linemen. Jimmie Ward was the last 1st round selection of a DB in 2014. No other DB was selected in the first or second round since.

I would take a wr after an OT unless a cb who had no business dropping falls on our lap. They can use someone better with more speed and quickness as the 3rd to eventually replace Jennings when they let him walk. Even more so since it seems Gray is a lost cause
Looks like we may have to take a safety early with Huf injured.

We need a lot of things, safety, guard, tackle, corner, edge, defensive tackle, future center, wide receiver...

Which is why we need to take BPA as much as possible.
