Well yeah it's just you have to hit on this one. If not you have been set back for years. 2 first rounders and a 3rd is a lot to give up. We changed 1st rounders with them this year and moved up. So I don't count that one. It's a lot to give up. We must hit. QB is a big crap shoot. Is there one there that changes the franchise at #3? IDK? You can get Tribusky real high too. You don't always get a Mahomes who was actually lower in the draft than this. You just never know. I understand they need a QB of the future and why they did it. But it's not a sure thing after Trevor Lawrence IMO.

Please just no Mac Jones! He may be able to run the offense okay, but it's just a really uninspiring pick after moving up to 3. I hope they go Fields as that dude is just a baller.

Absolutely this!!!

If we don't take Fields, I feel like we'll regret it down the line. If we take Jones, we'll regret it. Lance is somewhere in between.

Jones might grow into an OK pro QB, but you don't give up what we did to draft just an OK QB.

• Mac Jones: Matt Ryan, David Carr
• Trey Lance: Steve McNair, Vince Young

Fields is the target. Wilson is the consolation prize. That's been the plan. That's why the front office acted quickly and assertively.

The Mac Jones hype is a smokescreen, for two reasons. One, the 9ers want to act like and continue to push the narrative that the 1 is obviously Lawrence and the 2 is obviously Wilson. Jets Wilson. Jets Wilson. He is off the board, he will be gone, they will take him. It's assuring the Jets that is the right pick and all the analysts are playing into it. Almost every mock is trending that way now. This is in an effort to keep Fields available at 3. And of course, if other teams think we are talking Fields, they will be less likely to facilitate a trade with the Jets to move in front of us, if even possible.
