Claypool is much better prospect than Engram and they say he will be there in the 3rd.
Engram was all over the place in mocks. But the consensus was second round. He had first round mocks, and he had 3rd round mocks. NFL.com thought second to third.
In a draft that was not loaded with WRs, Claypool could have a potential 2nd round consensus....and for all we know....someone loves him and he could go in the first....who knows....it only takes one team to love him.
Claypool has the inside physicality to deal with linebackers, but he is not nearly the rout runner, nor creates the separation that Engram can make on cuts, but he is tenacious and understands how big he is...he doesn't try to play small.
Actually, Claypool is what one would think Jeudy would look like if we looked at ONLY combine stats when you consider Jeudy's shuttle.
The only thing i would drop in the conversation is....we have the NYG version of Engram and the Giants are a HOT MESS....that team is in shambles, and Engram still produced pretty well.
ITs worth noting that Engram thought he could play, but the team shut him...not surprising considering their record.
Someone that knows more then me could weigh in on the 5th year option. Its possible the 49ers could pick up his 5th year, making this a two year contract versus a 1 year contract.
