WR class 2020

I don't think thats quite fair......he is a similar prospect.....but .none of us has a crystal ball.

Engram was all over the place in mocks. But the consensus was second round. He had first round mocks, and he had 3rd round mocks. NFL.com thought second to third.

In a draft that was not loaded with WRs, Claypool could have a potential 2nd round consensus....and for all we know....someone loves him and he could go in the first....who knows....it only takes one team to love him.

Claypool has the inside physicality to deal with linebackers, but he is not nearly the rout runner, nor creates the separation that Engram can make on cuts, but he is tenacious and understands how big he is...he doesn't try to play small.

Actually, Claypool is what one would think Jeudy would look like if we looked at ONLY combine stats when you consider Jeudy's shuttle.

The only thing i would drop in the conversation is....we have the NYG version of Engram and the Giants are a HOT MESS....that team is in shambles, and Engram still produced pretty well.

ITs worth noting that Engram thought he could play, but the team shut him...not surprising considering their record.

Someone that knows more then me could weigh in on the 5th year option. Its possible the 49ers could pick up his 5th year, making this a two year contract versus a 1 year contract.

Worked at The Draft Network as their WR evaluator. Now he's at Cover 1. He knows his s**t.
Damn, jags released marqise lee, might snag a a wr in front of us. Might really need the jets to take a lineman for us to land 1 of the big 3 wrs
Know he was very injury prone and hasn't done much for them lately , just sux cause it ups the odds they go wr. Hopefully they go dL, cb, or something other than jeudy, ruggs, lamb

Jeudy to Jacksonville. Lamb to the Jets. Ruggs to the Raiders? 49ers tradedown.
Welp, if Niners want their man, they're going to need to move up for him.

Things that the 49ers should absolutely not do.

Hell no we are short on D aft capital as it is. If the WRs and OTs are done trade down.

Brad Kelly was a big Dante Pettis guy. I still believe Pettis can turn it around but I'm just saying

Is it Pettis' talent that is the ? or something else though. Desire. Deebo dog not in him. No want to. Content. Ruggs is the opposite of Pettis in all those areas and obv a better WR in general.

I'm biased and want Ruggs. But with Lynch's comments today I am going to go to zero expectation mode for Ruggs now. I fully want to trade back from 13 if he is not going to draft a WR there. Get more picks. Rather have Blacklock + picks or Madabuike + picks >>> Kinlaw and no picks.

Trade back, get Mims at #22, Gladney at #31, and Madabuike at #45.

Pettis talent wise is pretty damn legit...GMs need to get to know these dudes and find out the other stuff like love the game & want to be great. Analysis don't get that inside info.

I think where we draft a WR this year will show how confident Shanalynch are or are not in Pettis going forward.

Completely agree. If that happens there will be one of the stud OTs still available. Take one of them or move down no lower than 16. One of these guys will still be there at 16.... one of OTs, Kinlaw, Henderson. Then take a WR at 31 or in 2nd rd if they trade down again.

Or Tristan Wirfs falls and the 49ers pick him
