The vert is less about how high can you jump to get 50/50 balls, and more about how explosive and sudden are you to create separation to get 80/20 balls. These poor numbers backup the tape. He has fine speed, but is not at all sudden on his routes

This. Vertical is a good test of overall explosiveness. Its most visible in how fast a receiver hits top speed after cutting.
