Who's your best case scenario with pick 36 (if no trade)?

And by the way, no trade please. With a little luck we can come away from this draft with a minimum of 2 starters. The talent is too good to trade away from.

But there is so much talent!
Right now i count 11 players i would be ok with if we come away with our second pick (whatever pick that is).
As i think there will be player selections like Drew Lock, Zach Allen and company to me it would be easily ok to trade down into the pick 45-50 area.

Id be ok with
Risner, Ford or Taylor if we go O-Line
Murphy or GreedyW as CB
Thornhill,Adderley,Gardner-J for S
Brown, Butler, Metcalf as WR

If Shanahan loves a guy of course he should take him.
But if he has his eye on a WR who is likely to be available later he could trade down to ~45 +/- and pick up an extra late 3rd or early 4th
Best case scenario if no trade? Trade down.

I can't lie. I still like Metcalf if he is used the way he should be used (elite at fly routes). I also like Campbell and Brown and Butler. I don't know if I like any of them at 36, though.

AJ is my pick - make it happen, Shanalynch. If not - make it Metcalf.

I honestly think DK Metcalf, AJ Brown, Hakeem Butler, Greedy Williams, Jawaan Taylor, Dalton Risner, Nasir Adderly would be fine. Plus maybe a few more. Honestly I think we are sitting pretty great right now. I didn't think this many of these guys would be here. I thought some would be picked by now. More of them fell to the 2nd than I thought would be the case. We really can't miss if we get one of these. By the math we would have to get one of these since there aren't that many picks ahead of us. I think we can come out with a real good player at a position of need too.

People always want to ignore O Line because it's not as fun as a WR. But Staley is getting older. So getting a young OT to pair with our super pick at RT from last year would do this team some good. I'm OK with that even though it's not WR which everybody wants.

That said if a stud WR is there and they go that route I think that is great too. I hope it's a big WR. We have too many little WR's. I'm sick of all the little smurf WR's on this team. Can we just have one big WR? Just one? I know this team will never have lots of big ones but we could use a guy for jump balls and high point targets and redzone targets. We don't have that right now.

Gotta be one of these guys!

I'm kind of starting to like Greedy at #36.

I prefer Byron Murphy, better zone awareness, and just plays the game more like a 9er.

Greedy does have a higher ceiling though.

I agree. However this is not Shanahan's MO so I don't expect a trade down . . . which would benefit the Niners hugely.
KS wastes, rather than intelligently accumulates, draft capital. He's absolutely knee jerk and more likely to trade up for someone he fixates on than look at the big picture. He's not good at this draft thing. And JL is just an ineffective KS follower. Perhaps they have matured, but I wouldn't stake anything on that being the case. At least not from anything they've shown so far.
Risner would be a terrific get. Would love to see them trade down a few spots, if they find a partner, and pick up one of Risner, Thornhill or AJ. Along with another pick.

First, find a trading partner.

Second, accept the risk of losing the guy you wanted.

This draft capital business is highly overrated. It may appear important now, but the 5th or 6th round pick you acquire from risking losing out on a potential starter is likely to get cut later or put on the PS where other teams can just snaffle him.
I'm so torn honestly. I think gun to my head I'm taking Murphy. I'm shocked he fell as far as he did. He may not have the typical size we look for but dude is smooth as hell. I'd love Brown or Butler but there is still a ton of WR talent left. CB after Murphy and Greedy is pretty bare bones.

Yes, it is important to compare available depth at the positions. Personally I am just glad I dont have to make the decision and live with the consequences!
would love to trade down.. but AJ Brown at 36 is great value
As much As I want brown, if we have the chance, we need to trade down. There's so many good players on the board, if we move down 10 spots, well still get a great player. If we stay put AJB is my top guy. He is a perfect fit for what we do on offense, and I think him and Pettis make for a nice you WR duo to build our wide receiver core around. I cant believe 2 other receivers were drafted before him.
AJ Brown.
to clarify... I only want to trade down if we get a very high 4th (or better) this year or a 3rd or better next year. Otherwise, pick at 36 and take AJB.
