Pretty sure everyone thought Thomas was going to be a top 2-3 pick

I think he means Beathard/Joe Williams then T. Moore and to a lesser extent pettis.
Would not be surprised if its a WR we coached at the SB. I see Samuel in the 2nd already (which isn't a reach) BUT... I would not be surprised to see Travis Fulgham or Gary Jennings in the back of the 3rd top of the 4th. Mocks have them 5th-6th range. (Though i like both and wouldn't be mad at either in the 4th TBH especially since we have no 5th... yet)

I'm mentally preparing myself for Rashan Gary at 2. If I can prepare myself for that than any selection outside of Gary would be AMAZING

This. Extreme pessimism means you'll almost always be pleasantly surprised.

Simply put, Lynch can't afford to reach.., not after draft two years ago. He needs to stick to basics and not allow the Baalke itis to set in

In 2017 Beathard was "expected" to be available later.
In 2018 Pettis was "expected" to be available later.
I'm not saying they would have been but it's safe to say that some players are likely to go in some general area.

You might be on to something, perhaps they reach a little for someone in the 4th because they won't get another shot until the 6th.

This place lost its s**t on this day last year once Simms "mocked" McGlinchey to the 49ers. All hell broke loose after that.
It's been smooth sailing this year. Simms has stuck with Bosa.
