Why on earth would we be trading back that far that far. If we miss out on Bosa or Allen I'm gonna say that Lynch would need to be fired. There's no reason we should be trading back unless Bosa or Allen are gone. And because we have the 2nd pick that isn't possible. This team is in MAJOR need of pass rushing. We are guaranteed a chance at one of the top two EDGE rushers coming out.
If there's ever a pick that Lynch is compelled to make it's Bosa if he's there for us, or Allen if the Cardinals take Bosa.

If we trade back and the Big 3 are gone who is your target?

I'm ok with trading back actually, but the compensation has to be worth it to pass up on Bosa.
At 11, you probably miss out on the next 2 or 3 pass rushers.

I wouldn't want us trading down any further than Giants (Jaguars at the latest). More importantly, we better be getting two 1st rounders and some. That sounds greedy and it is, but oh well...teams either butter us up or no deal.
If that talk is even in the works (I don't think it is today) it would be nice to make a deal for AJ. Bungles need a lot, they're going into rebuild mode. If there is something going on behind the curtain, we have guys they could use and throw in a mid/late pick.

Depends on how far we drop, and who's on the board.
Players I would target: (these are guys at positions of need and/or value that I like, in no order)

I'm willing to give Montez Sweat a shot.

Niners should not trade out of the top 10, period. Would only consider trade offers from Raiders, Giants or the Broncos and the deal would have to be amazing for the Niners to pass on the big 3. Targets at that point should be Burns or Ed Oliver.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to have that go to guy but we have options.
In your scenario, after Bosa , it goes QW, Allen, Ferrell, sweat, Ferguson, Burns. for me. Not sure what you can get at 11, maybe sweat, Burns and Ferrell. I'm not exactly thrilled about that.
You are correct in your assessment of the receivers. The new rules have made it possible to get good production out of average to good receivers so you don't have to overpay for an elite receiver that may end up being a problem.

Burns.
Sweat has a heart condition, so I wouldn't touch him. He might retire from football like Borland.
In either case, if we come out of the draft without the top 3, its an epic fail. Lynch should be fired before our 2nd round pick comes up.

There are two critical assumptions that must be resolved before ANY trade lower than #4 would be made.
1. Dee Ford's back issues will not be recurrent. There is a reason his guarantee was as low as it was - recognized concern over his long-term health.
2. Whoever the draft pick may be, he must be capable of bringing the same kind of presence Ford brings. IOW, consistent threat to the life of the opposing QB.
Consequently, the odds of getting that kind of player at #11 or later, regardless of what the draft haul might be, are just too long. AJ Green at his age, is insufficient return considering the primary need of this team.
Now if Jon Gruden decides he needs a QB, and AZ takes Murray...I'm listening.

THIS! Anything other than Bosa or Allen, and that is a catastrophic mistake. ELITE players. You gotta have 'em, and at a position like ER, you just don't pass that up. You can't. And at a position of maximal need. ELIITES. Everbody has to have some. We have darn few. One or the other of these two guys or bust. Ergo, as for trades go, the only one i see is if AZ goes murray/Q, the only one on the board i would trade with would be Jets, and they aren't going anywhere near a deal like that. They got their QB...and RAIDS don't. But If AZ passes on Bosa /Allen, we give up #2 , our only sure fire way to get Allen or Bosa is to trade with Jets. So i don't see that happening at all.
And we stand pat with #2. Oops, misread DJs post. Would trade with Raids under this circumstance only. As long as we knew Gruden wanted a QB. But that is the only other ciircumstance where this works. Bosa or Allen. No other scenario.

This thread is cracking me up.
We didnt give up the #2 pick for OBJ one of the best WRs in the game because the #2 pick has value. This thread has placed the "top 3"'s value above said pick. Thus above OBJ.
Would any of you trade the #2 pick for Demarcus Lawrence or Jadeveon Clowney?
How bout this one.... Would any of you trade the #2 pick for Chargers DE Joey Bosa?
DISCLAIMER: I didn't want to give up #2 for OBJ. Just saying....

I think krizay put it best. You can have demarcus Lawrence or you can have Bradley Chubb, Joe Staley, and Jarvis Landry. I can definitely see the value of a trade down.

Well, I am happy with one of the top players or a rich trade, but lets be clear, it isnt that simple. As you move down, the chances of busting increases. It is easy to pick 3 highly successful players and say, we could pick three players at equivalent positions and we could. But we could also end up with Rashaun Woods and Reggie McGrew.
