Deal or No Deal at the draft?

If Bosa is there stand pat at #2. Trade down in the 2nd and possibly the 4th.

We'd get the best player and add more picks

If Bosa is gone. I'm trading down at #2.

HOWEVER, in another thread someone made the comment about what if we get an ER in free agency....


If we sign Clowney or Lawrence i again am ok at staying at #2 and taking Allen then trading down in 2nd and 4th.

EDIT: FWIW, we aren't exactly hittin' em to sporty in the trade up game.

I think we will be trading down. Possibly in the first round if Bosa goes 1. If we stay at pick 2 then I think it's a guarantee we trade down in the 2nd round.

Does not work out as much as people think it should. There is a reason a player is graded second overall in front of a guy who is graded fifth overall.

Since the year 2000, there have been 212 pro bowl picks in the first round.
Of the 212 picks, 74% of them came before pick 15.
Of those 74%, roughly 67% came within the top 5.

My point being we can trade away a HOF talent for a couple of whiffs in the first round.
No thanks. I want a HOF talent top pick. These players make everyone else on their team better.

That being said even is Bosa is gone I take Williams or Allen. All 3 of them are worthy IMO

If Bosa is pick 1. It'll depend on how Josh Allen does at the combine if we stand pat or trade down

If AZ takes Bosa at #1, SF stays at #2 and takes Allen.

Talk about extremes.

You call the pro bowlers HOF talent. While im sure there is plenty more PB caliber players that were had in the later portions of the 1st round

Irregardless of who is there at #2 (except for Bosa), I think it's best if we trade down..
Then trade up from our second rd pick to get bottom half first rd pick to address safety/ WR or MLB

It just depends what is being offered. That is why teams do their due diligence. If a team in the mid-first is looking at our number two overall pick, and are offering two 1s and two 2s, you have to take a serious look at the deal.

Everything is negotiable. The question is the price tag.

Trade down if Bosa isn't there.

If no one wants to trade, then draft Quinnen Williams and take the heat from the fanbase.

I'll go with deal. I still think AZ picks Bosa and as hard as I'm trying, I'm not on the Josh Allen bandwagon. I think we attempt to trade back (not too far) and grab a few extra picks.

My second scenario would be to take QWill at #2 instead of Allen, but that's only if Allen sucks at the Combine.

Stay at #2 and draft Allen, he is going to be a yolked out beast at the combine...

My initial thought would be the Niners stand pat if Bosa falls to them at #2 and then they wheel and deal with their picks at the top of the next three rounds. I don't envision them trading up or using future picks to mortgage the future of the franchise, not with three more years on Lynch's and Shanahan's contracts.

I hope Lynch trades down...and it has nothing to do with Bosa being available or Allen for that matter. If they truly want to beef up the defense with the BPA then that's Quinnen Williams. They'll only get him if they stand pat, though. It's hard to know what the Cards will do with their 1st pick...they'd be smart to trade down if some team offers a king's ransom. It's good to have options, so my hope is a team makes Lynch an excellent offer that'll yield another couple of picks.
