Do not trade #2

I keep seeing a lot of players coming up in possible trade. Whether it's AB, Odell, or Von we can't trade it. Getting a rookie pass rusher is important to salary structures as they cost as much as a QB. If we acquire a proven player that's great. But not at the cost of #2 imo.

Don't worry it's not going to happen - that #2 pick has a lot of value.
Teams don't trade a top 3 pick for a player so you don't have to worry.

OBJ & #6 > #2
Jalen Ramsey & #7 >>>>>>>>>>>>> #2
I really doubt they could get enough to justify trading back and passing up a chance to get either Bosa or Williams. If someone offered like 3 picks with one being in the top 10 and another high #2 and a 3 or 4 then I might consider it. Even then they would need to be pretty sure they could still get one of the edge guys they liked. The only team in that position with enough picks is Oakland and I doubt they would trade with the Niners.

I'd take jalen Ramsey in a heartbeat
Not looking to pick up other teams fading stars in return for our #2. The first two players taken, unless someone does something very stupid, are likely to be future superstars.
Only way I'd trade the second pick is to move back a couple spots and have a few extra picks.

Definitely agree with that. As for trading down, i don't think a 6 pak or 3 ones, or whatever would change my mind on trading down even for a kings ransom. Look we aren't going to get a #1 or# 2 pick again for a long time. And right now we have the opportunity to get one of two GTD all pro passurshers one of whom is also an ER. If Q hadn't put on such a show i would have said Bosa or bust. But Q is the real deal, and he can get after QBs.

We have to have an ER who is outstanding, one of best in business, or a passrusher up the gut, AND a 2nd rd ER. If possible, we get yet another ER in FA. But one of those jokers is going to be our passrush specialist, and then we have the complete skeleton of a team. FR QB and top flite passursher. No trading down for either of these two guys.

I am curious what a legit offer for the #2 pick is however. And much as i would like to fleece somebody's lunch money, i wouldn't do it for Bosa or Q.. I hope we don't take an offer of a six pack. Because then we never get our own passrusher.
I agree with the OP. There are a consensus 2 (or 3 if you include Allen) elite players in this draft and we have the opportunity to get one of them.

All other trade scenarios are on the table.

That must be why we traded down to 3 to take Thomas.

That draft had 1 elite player prospect: Garrett. This draft had at least 2.
If we end up valuing Allen/Q Williams the same as Burns/Polite (and Bosa is gone) then a trade down makes sense. The question then is just do we look for additional picks or a proven player? I am tired of losing so I would take AB/OBJ/Ramsey over an additional 1st in 2020.

How borked would our salary cap be if we traded down with JAC for Ramsey and 7, then shipped 7 to PIT for AB and 20?
