Would happily take him on the 49ers. He showed serious grit and effort out there. He's the type of dude that will make game-winning plays for someone in the NFL, even if he doesn't turn out to be a star. You need guys with his mentality and work ethic. He's a winner.

I think he would be a great fit in our locker room. He is one of those players that improves a team both on and off the field.

What a great name for a pass rusher!

I'm all about Chase, his first step is actually crazy, I was watching it and comparing him to Polite (who's first step is elite) and when they both get it right there's not much between them, Chase has better hands and the bend is similar.

I would bet a lot of money that Polite gets drafted a full round before Chase, but that Chase has a better career. I'd draft him in the 2nd, but I know the NFL wants length and freak athletes, he'll make it to the 3rd round and I'd run the card to the podium.

Where do you guys see him being picked??

I'd say 3rd round. He's a really terrific college player, but I think some of his measurables will be troublesome for NFL GMs. A 6'2" edge rusher without length is going to be a tough sell.

That being said, I grade him over Rashan Gary, who might be the most overhyped player in the draft this year.

I think he'll sneak into the second round because of work ethic, drive and a stellar pre-draft showing. He's one of those guys that will post better workout numbers than expected. He just works too hard and has too non-stop of a motor to overlook, in my opinion. I agree with the assessment of Gary though.

Oh, you've done it now, MD.

Lmao

I respectfully disagree... I'm surprised Maddog would say that but oh well..

It's going to fun to watch him prove alot of doubters-haters wrong... At this point I'ma laugh when the niners pass him up...

If we take Quinnen Williams with our 1st round pick, I hope we get this guy in the 2nd!
Chase is my favourite edge rusher not named Bosa, unfortunately it's telling that even Michigan tried moving his position to off ball and then even to TE for a bit. Chase simply isn't what teams are looking for in edge rusher.

The combine will be huge for him, he has to completely blow the doors off a particular area for someone to give him a shot, and I'm not sure he will.

I could literally see him being a 2nd round pick, all the way to undrafted or even changed into a FB depending on how he tests and measures.

It makes me sad, if he was two inches taller and a hair quicker he'd be a 1st rounder.

I agree, and his film blows the doors off most of the other edge guys, especially when you factor in his run D, one of the only ones who dictates to tackles where he's going.

I stand by my comment above though, the difference between measuring 6'2" weighing 245 and running 4.8 40 & a 7 sec 3 cone or 6'3" 255, 4.6 & 6.8 is ridiculous.

I don't think the combine is more important for anyone.

I was thinking this as well. Would be exciting.

I haven't finished my eval on Chase vs. Gary, but with not many more games to go, I don't see on tape right now any reason to have these guys graded so differently. Maybe this postseason will change my mind, but I don't get the Gary hype.
