The Niners need blue chip players that you find in the top 10. Not solid guys you can get every year. Need to stay in top 10 unless the price is insane.

Would imagine the Niners will have offers from teams in the 7-10 range that are more appetizing.

all depends if you think the draft is full of blue chip players at the top or what the real drop off is. They could take our current 2nd and move up from 18th and in turn still another 1st and a higher 2nd all said an done.

I'd love it.

I get the allure of having lots of picks -- but at some point we need to start stockpiling elite talent as well.

If you're drafting in the top 10...or in this case the top 5...you're in position to take somebody who can shift the fortunes of your franchise. Better yet -- if two or three QBs go before the Niners pick -- they could very likely get to choose the best non-QB in the entire draft. That's a lot to give up. Not sure the price mentioned in this article is sufficient.

Disagree with that....you can even look at the past draft and see that's not true.

Evan Engram
Tre'Davious White
T.J. Watt
Reuben Foster
Ryan Ramczyk

are all looking like studs to me (and draft 20th or later).

outside of QB and Barkley/nelson this draft IMO isn't top heavy with blue chip talent

Who knows. But Keim has put them in terrible position. They've punted on a QB for three years in a row now. They, for some reason, think Carson Palmer is a viable NFL QB. Now they will have no choice but to trade up to get a QB...not even the best QB in the draft.

The Cardinals can say goodbye to their 2019 1st round pick. They don't have enough picks this year to avoid giving that away.

I think if they're picking about 10/11 we'd be looking at their 1st, 2nd and poss 1st/2nd next year. I mean what did Chicago give up to just move one spot.
But it's all mute anyway, if Darnold does declare then some team has to fall in love in with him to give us that opportunity.

Knowing Lynch he'll get all that moving back one spot

What would you do w/those picks in that draft position??

Just curious? Who do you see as the best WR? I'm not a Sutton guy. He never seems to have any separation. Reminds me of Rashaun Woods.

Calvin Ridley is the best WR in this class. Amazing route runner with speed. If he was like an 1 inch taller and 10 lbs bigger he's a easy top 10 pick imo.
If Jimmy is our guy then we need to get OL guys. At least one guard, a center and a tackle since Staley is getting older. I say at least one guard because I'm not sure about Garnet. Don't want to see our guy get crushed. A BIG wide receiver is needed although the receivers are looking better now with a better QB. We still need an explosive edge rusher but who doesn't. Another linebacker and DB are always in demand. In other words we still need a lot but what we don't get in the draft we can get in free agency. Not sure who will be available but it is rare to get a pass rusher in free agency unless the are old or trouble so I would look for line help there. Running back will be a priority if we don't sign Hyde. Lot's of ifs and it will make for an interesting off season now that it looks like we are at least on the right track.
Wouldn't mind this at all. I really like Ridley and think he's a perfect fit for this offense. I haven't done Much scouting on guice yet but I know from the fournette thread he's a much mor complete back. If he can block and catch and run as well as Hyde then it's already a nice upgrade.

yeah i would of taken Landry too. Doesnt look like there will be any good passrushers in FA. Got to jump on one in the beginning of the draft. We have other options at RB
