Assuming we have a FQB, fixing the oline is the thing we could do to fix the offense the most AND the quickest. If Guapo is the caliber QB I expect him to be then an uograded oline would be magic for us.
I think if Lynch signs a FA C & Garnett becomes a significantly trimmed down beast, he won't have to draft an OG in the 1st or maybe even 2nd rd & he could take skill players early. I'd love Bradley Chubb...he's the real deal and would give Saleh something he doesn't have now...a true beastly pass rusher. I'd take a WR with size, too. Especially if he trades down, he can in essence have his cake & eat it, too.

The OL is gutter. Staley and Brown should be the only ones comfortable with their job security. That's 6 or 7 spots up for grabs. Obviously, I'm not advocating 6 new lineman in one offseason. But the former are probably the only ones I envision as starters when this team is good and Staley's might be a stretch given his age.

They've had injuries before on the O Line but they managed to cover some of those deficiencies with Zeke.

You take Tyron Smith out of the game and keep Zeke, they still manage to look good. Keep Tyron and remove Zeke, they start looking sluggish.

With that said, I've been wanting to draft Barkley just because he would bring another dimension to this offense. Fix the O Line through FA.

Drafting Nelson makes A TON of sense and wouldn't be against it for the simple fact that this guy is being built up to be the next best G in the NFL. I'm all for that.

I look at the draft for what it is. We will pick in the top 5. That means Barkley, unless we wanna go against the grain and pull the trigger on a G which from my understanding is to high for a G.

We can come up with different scenarios about trading down and getting additional this and additional that.

So I'll stick to what it is now.we currently pick #2. I'll take Barkley.

We need new starters at all three interior line positions...and saleh would just use Chubb to cover wr's.
O-LINE. Interior first. Then bring on a tackle who'll be groomed to start down the road.
I can't see us going d-line again. There is no Myles garret here.

Hope interior is addressed in FA and we take a T to develop in the 3rd.

Chubb is more of a Michael Bennett type DE, not so much the Leo/Elephant type. Don't see him being a very good fit. They need a speed rusher at the 9, not another power guy.

If plan is to Play Thomas at LE/3T in base... Would Chubb not fit at base elephant and slide to LE in nickel when someone with speed goes to Leo in nickel?

Where are you playing Buckner in this scenario? Adding Chubb with Thomas already on the roster seems excessively redundant if you're still left looking for a true edge rusher.

Lets just say Buck/Thomas would play LE/3T in base. It doesnt sound excessive to me. Wouldnt Chubb be legit in base at the elephant and slide to LE to go up against a slower RT in nickel?
think its smarter to spend money on OL in FA, and then draft skill positions.
Depending on FA and where we're picking in the first round, he're my top 6 players...

  1. B. Chubb
  2. R. Smith
  3. M. Fitzpatrick
  4. C. Sutton
  5. C. Ridley
  6. Q. Nelson
