Obviously. But im a fan of his, so im not just talking from watching highlight videos. I even commented on the missed tackle i know of.

If you disagree with me, show me a statistic, or proof to the contrary.

Otherwise the comment of an anonymous AFC scout means absolutely nothing to me.

For the record, i have a pretty good history of grading DB's around here.

Kid was an absolute monster in coverage last year. Not sure how much some of you watched him play.

lol 2. ok. I stand corrected.

But explain the regression hysteria..

How is 2 INT ( a third called back) and 11 PDs on 84 combined tackles regression after coming off a knee injury? furthermore he got better as the season progressed. He was asked to do a lot more things in coverage then he was as a rookie and he thrived.

I honestly need to watch more of James. I watched the Bama game and didn't see the explosion anymore plus I don't see safety as a big need. Watching this game though has me wanting to see more. His power is on full display vs Boston College a few blitzes he was sending guards back 2 yards with a bull rush. His coverage has never been much of a question other than if he has the requisite athleticism to be a center field type. I say he's better suited as a SS so you can take full advantage of his solid tackling and blitzing. Watching the Clemson, Boston College and Florida tape he looks better than Minkah Fitzpatrick.

He is a Monster man.

Add Ansah and Johnson in FA and this defense could be real special.
A better DB pick could be Minkah Fitzpatrick...he can play anywhere in the secondary and would provide Saleh a ton of versatility.

He won't be available

Because he simply wasn't as good, he was late to the ball more often, he didn't look as fluid. It could be that he'll return to his former level.............or he might not. I just don't think those odds are worth it for a team that has been screwed by guys with a history of injuries.

Give me Roquan Smith, Landry or one of the top CBs, Jackson or Ward and I'm good with Tartt, Colbertt and potentially Reid all at safety.

Even though I love Derwin, being a FSU fan, I tend to agree with the thought of snagging Smith, Jackson or an EDGE over a Safety.

same here (also a FSU fan) we have Tarrt/Colbert and from everything we've heard so far Ward will be back. I'd even prefer to throw Reid some cash vs drafting another safety in the 1st.

Overall the middle of our defense is very good. we need an outside CB/edge rusher....I'd much rather take Smith to play a long side Foster if we're looking to upgrade the middle of the field on D.

I'm just still hoping and praying Colbert is the real deal. Other than trading for Jimmy he can be the biggest piece we've added since the new regime took over.

Will be interesting to track James this year. Hopefully he stays healthy. He was an absolute missile as a Freshman.

ward? he was the worst safety we had lmao

As fans do you guys think he got all the way back from his injury?
I'm fine with Colbert and Tartt/Ward for next year. Draft a safety in the later rounds. Kids looks good tho.
